chidexy: I agree, I don't think she will be finding Jaki meat at popular restaurants in Enugu.. Its probably a cheap source of protein for families who are poor or those who see it as some sort of delicacy ala bush meat things.. I |

prettyrosiemua: The meat is filtering into Enugu slowly, according to my mum Nkanu peeps (not all of course) have a liking for the meat as well. That's the new hustle for agro biz folks at present, import trailer loads from the North sell at profit in the East. I need to watch where I get my meat when am in Coal City. |

Owliver: Valid points.. There are vast stretch of arable lands in the North, one can drive for hours without seeing a single house, in the East even small scale backyard farms are not safe from wolves looking for lands to sell. Investors are now moving into my ancestral home enticing villagers with obscene money to part with their lands.. Thanks to a massive NBL factory built in 2003.. |

Flets: Crude oil is a natural rescource, so u cannot compare it to farming. Is there anyway it would be possible for the Nigerian govt to take over and exploit the farming of the north? In the past when Tin n columbite was mined in Jos, was it not the govt that exploited it to the benefit of us all? was it controlled by the indigenes? Farming is based on one's productivity just as fishing or trading is. Why dont the southernerns improve on their own fishing and farming instead of going into oil bunkery? As long as we are still one country there can never be anything like a regional control of Natural mineral rescources. 1 Like |
