gringringrin I'm not hating on the north..

If all you can get from my post is hatred then you have personal issues...

If most southerners (SW,SS,SE) go into agriculture..

The competition will increase and prices will fall then livestock products in the south will become cheap.

sorry fr d misundrstandin

@OP good work you are doing. It's not exactly the way they described it. Most food vendors (mostly road side) sell jaki meat alongside others. You get what you prefer. They have jaki meat separate from cow or goat meat and both are not prepared together.

Besides, you wouldn't be eating at a roadside buka. That's how erroneously stereotypes develop. By the way I come from ebonyi state

I agree, I don't think she will be finding Jaki meat at popular restaurants in Enugu.. Its probably a cheap source of protein for families who are poor or those who see it as some sort of delicacy ala bush meat things..

It's prolly going to Ebonyi state. It's kinda a delicacy in some part of the state. God bless ur effort ma'am

The meat is filtering into Enugu slowly, according to my mum Nkanu peeps (not all of course) have a liking for the meat as well. That's the new hustle for agro biz folks at present, import trailer loads from the North sell at profit in the East.

I need to watch where I get my meat when am in Coal City.

well, I agree with them. In as much as I don't want to turn this thread to tribal bashing thread. The igbos and yorubas and northerners are all hardworking people. Tell me the region that has the highest beggers and poverty stricken population let's determine who is lazy. You have agriculture more because you have more land areas? How many farm land can lagos accommodate? Its tight. NDeltans are blessed by oil and are also blessed by fishing skills, igbos are business oriented, yorubas are more educated and involved in service industry why north has large are of land hence the farming. So pls your assertion is wrong and baseless. smiley

Valid points.. There are vast stretch of arable lands in the North, one can drive for hours without seeing a single house, in the East even small scale backyard farms are not safe from wolves looking for lands to sell. Investors are now moving into my ancestral home enticing villagers with obscene money to part with their lands.. Thanks to a massive NBL factory built in 2003..

The OP deserves all the praises she is getting and even more.

But I won't allow you get away with this rubbish. We agree we need each other but the level of contribution is the highest fraud.

The crude from the SS gets exploited and goes direct into government coffers from where it is shared across all states including the north. The Niger deltans are not directly managing their resources and are not direct benefficiaries of same.

Turning it back to the north, the north directly manages its resources and retains its gain 100%. They don't pay tax on their agricultural products and yet get subsidized fertilizer funded by crude oil funds. All the agricultural products are paid for by Nigerians.... Its not free.

But the crude oil generated revenue in the form of monthly allocation is free to the north. Be properly guided.

Crude oil is a natural rescource, so u cannot compare it to farming.
Is there anyway it would be possible for the Nigerian govt to take over and exploit the farming of the north?
In the past when Tin n columbite was mined in Jos, was it not the govt that exploited it to the benefit of us all? was it controlled by the indigenes?

Farming is based on one's productivity just as fishing or trading is. Why dont the southernerns improve on their own fishing and farming instead of going into oil bunkery?
As long as we are still one country there can never be anything like a regional control of Natural mineral rescources.

Good idea for a Carpenter, set up shop in these areas and make carts for them.. Even use the hide from cattles to build proper saddles as well..

I hope you also see how the hubby is behind her too ba? Not To only notice the womans hussle and ignore the hubby's role a man is expected to play. Do you notice she is not doing it with baby strapped to her back? Many NL boys expect the woman to do it all. Go hussle, make my food, wash my clothes pay the bills and dont dare ask for my help in the home front shocked shocked A good wife/woman need the support of her man to achieve much.
I commend the OP but most importantly, I commend her husband, He is one in a million, he dug in with his wife and did not feel oppressed by her reliance on him to help in child care and helping her without feeling like his Ego is being thrown away. God bless him. A good wife is hard to find but a reliable husband is a rare gem indeed.

Awww Thanks Ma
