What happened in SA is unfortunate....... A serious government should have nipped this issue by making examples through arresting those that committed the crime and taking them to Court immediately.

I'd have love to be patriotic like you guys if we have a better and working system. A building collapse and tens of Nigerians and foreigners died....... nobody has been held responsible....... No investigation...... Nothing..... and you think they have no point.

over 300 have been arrested, the 4 who killed the Mozambican appeared in court.

I was actually enjoyin ur comment until I got 2 d last sentence and I now discover dat u ar one of those biased people I hav met online...when did xenophobia started in south africa? Who was d president of nigeria when SA were killing nigeria dat even cost them their own lucky dube, coz they think he was a nigerian? Is nigeria d only country affected? Stop dis prejudice comment and think straight

Majority of the South Africans act and talk demented. There is no excuse for Xenophobia, it indicates how hateful, jealous, disgusting, crude and uncivilized South Africans can be. From Zuma to the least of you all. Note that you will always be the envious ones, we are greater than you, we don't need to brag about it.

Forget that thing, after the war, S/A will turn Nigeria to 1967. Britain cannot defeat S/A in a War.
How dare you compare the military strength of Britain with that of S.A?Nigeria military is by far more better than that of S.A.

It is not the fault of SA to insult us/Jonathan it was becos of our relative inaction when we are supposed to act what has been done about the SCOAN tragedy ?it is being swept under the carpet the LASG tried we are putting it as religious. What happened during the illegal transfer of millions of dollar to SA were enough signs that's why desperation is not good. But sha oh it is rudeness and undiplomtic for SA to behave like that.

S.A is an overrated country. Take it or live it, Nigeria military is only second Egypt in Africa.

What are saying. South Africa has submarimes, fucking submarines. They will completely destroy all Nigeria's sea fleet and anchor comfortably at our port to shell the living daylight out of Lagos.
For airpower, please dont go there at all. Our major advantage is land forces.

They do raise a good point....... Those responsible for the unfortunate incident have yet to be bought to justice in Nigeria, despite it all Southafricans never went to that extreme.

The Nigerian government should tread with caution.

I think Nigeria towed the right way with this one (shocked they got it right this time cos Nigeria is diplomatically impotent), unlike the useless ultimatum they gave the last time.

However, Nigeria lacks what it takes to win a diplomatic war with South Africa. And I guess that was why they waved GEJ aside like an eunuch. They just need to tread with caution cos South Africa is the real boss of Africa, and it can exist without cordial relationship with Nigeria.

Anyway, the whole issue has been blown out of proportion.

“We will raise our concerns through diplomatic channels with the new administration that will assume office in Nigeria next month.”

www.thecable.ng/nigerias-reaction-xenophobc-attacks-unfortunate-says-south-africa

Why use the FUTURE tense for an action THEY have already taken

Is this statement not a way of them "raising their concerns"?

They want to spite OUR country and OUR government for their own failure that led to the attacks and loss for our citizens resident in their country. We, as patriotic Nigerians should not let it slide by THINKING it is aimed at just one person i.e. OUR current president. To do so will be to encourage future treatment to another of OUR president/leader.

Even though I am not a Jona fan, Buhari must come out to support Jonathan's action and make this nuisance know that we are one divided people. The excuse they gave is untenable

The only thing honourable and in defence of the office of the president is for Buhari to ignore them and demand that they render apology to the office of the president ... they see it as Jonathan, nope , it is Nigeria!

I don't know, the last reported attack was last week (the Mozambican ), no Nigerian was killed, though property was damaged. Some have even returned to their communities.

its just politics now

From the news feeds about the xenophobia, other than SA ofcos, I only see Nigerian sources still reporting about xenophobia, everyone has left the story behind.

so what if it's in Nigeria? did GEJ plan for them to be killed? why accuse him like that? that incident should have been resolved peacefully not blame one man (GEJ) for their death. give this man some credit please! if you were put under pressure like that; problems here and there.. bomb blast everywhere, the "supposed" abduction of school girls, coupled with curses from the supposed people he is ruling, you as a human being wouldn't have survived it.

Is it true they arrested ALL perpetrators including those who INCITED the hate CRIME such as President Zuma's son and the Zulu king

Jacob Zuma’s son supports Xenophobic attacks

President Jacob Zuma’s son, Edward, has come out in full support of King Goodwill Zwelithini’s controversial call to deport foreigners from South Africa.

“We need to be aware that as a country we are sitting on a ticking time bomb of them [foreigners] taking over the country.

“The reason why I am saying that is because some of the foreigners are working for private security companies where they have been employed for cheap labour. These companies are running away from complying with South African labour laws,” said the president’s eldest son.

‘Foreigners need to leave the country’

Zuma told News24 in an interview he fully agreed with Zwelithini’s sentiments that “foreigners needed to leave the country.”

Zwelithini allegedly made the comments, which have sparked criticism, at a moral regeneration rally in Pongola, northern KwaZulu-Natal, two weeks ago.

The Zulu king reportedly said that foreigners were changing the nature of South African society as they were taking advantage of the poorly behaved and undisciplined locals.

Zwelithini was also quoted as saying, “We urge all foreigners to pack their bags and leave.”
