A local television station in Indonesia has broadcasted a chilling re-enactment of how executions are carried out in Indonesia. It was broadcasted to millions of viewers yesterday and is set to become a brutal reality for the 4 Nigerians involved.

Come Wednesday, April 29th, Nigerians - Martin Anderson, 50, Okwudili Oyatanze, 41, Jamiu Owolabi Abashin, 50, and Silvester Obiekwe Nwolise, 47, will be executed in Indonesia just after the stroke of midnight. They were found guilty of drug trafficking and will be shot to death by a firing squad.

The men are expected to be led from their isolated cells in Death Island through a wildly dense tropical forest to a place called Nirbaya - or more appropriately known as Death Valley.

The condemned pair will be given white clothing to wear, which symbolises the afterlife, before
beginning their fatal trek and are given the option to be blindfolded with a piece of fabric before facing the firing squad who will be lined up anywhere from five to 10 metres in front of them.

The confronting decisions continue for the death row inmates with the opportunity to choose whether to stand, sit or kneel before a cross is placed over their hearts acting as a target for the 12 riflemen - of which nine will have blanks and only three will have live rounds.

Each prisoner is offered 3 minutes to calm down but if necessary their hands or feet will be tied to a 3m high pole or worse still - a wooden execution chair.

The 12 marksmen are then ordered to fire at them. And after the shooting, if doctors confirm that there are still signs of life in them, the commander will shoot the inmates in the head.

I hate drug peddlers but that part that involves shooting in the head is simply crossing the line, they really don't need to do that!

But I will recommend this type of treatment for paedophiles especially the ones that specialise in violating the innocence of our Babies!

I've this overwhelming feeling of sympathy for them. If only our past and present leaders had consciences and returned the over 500 billion of Dollars stolen from our coffers, invested them in this country and provided employment for these men, these men would have still been alive.

But now they will die no thanks to Abacha, Babangida, OBJ, Atiku, Tinubu, GEJ, Diezani, FFK, T.A Orji and other worthless leaders that have turned looting to their favorite pastime.

This country is heading to the gallows. If our leaders didn't embezzle all our money, imagine how easy life would have been for us. What led us to this stage? S.Ans kill us. In U.K, we're killed. In U.S.A, Nigerians are killed. Even in C.A.R, Nigerians are killed. All over the world, we suffer public disgrace. If not for our corrupt leaders, tell me what a Nigerian should be doing in Somali all in the name of green pastures. Our leaders have ruined us. We've refineries, they don't work. We've crude oil, yet we can't refine them. No freely available water. No good roads. No quality education and health care. These simple things of life we ought to have as a must, we lack them. I weep for this country. I wonder if Karma really exist. Because while the poor masses suffer, the rich get richer and live longer. This country irritates me.

Leave Islam out of this. This is not a religious law. Drug trafficking is frowned upon by almost all the countries on this earth. Some kill, some choose not to kill the offenders. Laws are laws. If you break the law, you pay for it. Simple. The drug peddlers knew the penalty for drug trafficking and still indulged in it. It's like knowing a lion is in a cage and you enter there with no weapons and expect to come out alive? Are sick upstairs?

If only this kind of death penalty existed for our corrupt leaders whose looting sprees led these men to engage in nefarious activities, Nigeria would've been ridden of evil and heartless leaders.

I think China have capital punishment (death penalty) for corrupt leaders that embezzle the funds of the country, are they an Islamic country too? These laws are meant to fight evil. If we had such laws in Nigeria, that bastard T.A Orji would've been killed by now. Laws are laws. If you can't respect them, don't enter the country.

this is the fault of abacha, iBB, Obasanjo and Jonathan. They have given us little opportunity to become useful, thereby exposing us to fraudulence...

We need to recover our stolen monies, kill every corrupt leader.

why can't nigerian authorities screen people leaving this country for whatever reason, screen them, coloborate with the destination country. Get info on their hosts.. i believe we can lessen this 'drug related' embarrassment with the right policies.

I am yet to understand why drug dealings carry death penalty. What about other capital punishments? What will killing them amount to? If one says it will warn others from trailing that path then the aim Is defeated because a lot of people are still taking that path; people that don't fear death. They rather die than remain poor

But humans self sad why can't we learn through other people's experiences

Drug dealing is the cause of a lot of poverty and deaths. Drug dealers are as bad as killers because soo many people die from their drugs. Drug dealers are the scum of society and I wish other countries dealt with them in the same manner. Poverty doesn't discriminate hun and if people want to make many through other people's backs than we should just keep killing them. In the uk the jails are full of them and it's the tax payers that cuff their bill while they stay at Her Majesty Leisure.

Indonesia is not your typical Islamic country like Saudi Arabia. They're made up of:

Islam
Protestantism
Catholicism
Hinduism
Buddhism
Confucianism

Go read your encyclopedia. Majority of those religion and citizens agreed to that law. So you must obey them when you go there. Hard Drugs are bad, that law is good. If you don't like it, stick to your country. I wish we had that law too.

Eventhough I really pity these folks, the fact still remains that we must stay away from any nefarious act which has tendency to destroy the lives of others.

We should also remember that we also have our family name to protect, always think it twice before engaging in activities that will not only soil this name but also bring us destruction. It's hightime we changed our "I go get money by force" mentality.

It's not easy to be a man, it was not easy for Seun Osewa, Dangote did not find it funny, it was never easy for the current president of Nigeria, who once had no shoes.

We all have to wake that spirit of determination in us up and we will finally make it the right way.

@OP should edit "broadcasted" in the news to "broadcast".

Crime does not and will not pay. If you wnt to commit crime, do it in Nigeria where "stealing is not corruption" or in Europe and North America where they will put you in a nice little cell. Do not commit crime in Asia or Arab countries where the wages of sin is death.

Do not do what you like but what is right cos crime will get you caught and beheaded.

It is also a secular country.

At independence in 1948...there was a big conference...and the Indonesians decided to run a secular government....with full rights for religious and tribal minorities.

It is the same situation in Malaysia and to some extent Turkey.

And Singapore....not a Muslim country....has draconian punishments for drug traffickers too.
