If buhari was a bad person,AIT by now will be shut down.. Freedom of press doesn't translate to throwing journalism ethics to the dogs.

This is democracy, we won't allow Buhari to bully and remove our press freedom having tasted it under GEJ.

Even Tinubu owned newspapers were allowed to print what they wanted, GEJ never banned The Nation or its sister publication saharareporters.

I know you read the above with utmost bias...

It "barred" not "banned"....two different words, two different meanings

See PDP Capitalizing over this issue and even regarding this mischievous and hateful AIT as a professional media house.

AIT was bought and paid for by the corruption cabal of Jonathan's Nigeria and they went all out in the most vicious and malignant campaign of calumny on the person of Muhammadu Buhari. The slander, defamation and the injury they heaped on that man and his family is still fresh on our minds. You don't expect him to welcome and embrace these treacherous and venomous evil outfit (AIT), and the criminal characters they represent.
I admire magnanimity in victory, I love forgiving people but in this case I will urge Buhari to distant himself from the diabolical and spiteful AIT. I will go as far as urging him (when he becomes president) to ensure that this arm of corruption called AIT is submerged and suffocated economically and for good - nonsense .

If youths are supporting the action taking by General Buhari in banning AiT, it then means that this country is doomed for ever.

“The APC and the President-elect may have one or two lessons to pick from President Goodluck Jonathan, who though the most maligned and abused President in the history of our nation, even by the APC, allowed his actions to be sufficiently guided by humility, tolerance and the rule of law”, the PDP said.

Very true. APC should learn. And also remember that it was the efforts of the masses that put Buhari in power after 3 failed attempts. This is democracy, it's opposite to the military dictatorship. It implies to the government that "If they do anyhow, they'll see anyhow" period

oga, do u know Nigerians clamour for freedom of information and press and we got it.if buhari wants to last he must obey it too.we are in a democratic society.
Jonathan had no choice than to respect it.

am not a politician but a critic of govt.am the number one critic of Jonathan useless government but buhari must respect freedom of information if not his govt will be disgraced too.

we are all praying for buhari to succeed cos we voted for him but the ait thing is a mistake from him.he should be advised by all including your humbleself sir to retrace his steps immediately cos no democratic president should shut down any press.

I rest my case.

buhari is not president yet, so how would he have shut AIT down by now? Besides, even if buhari is president, wouldn't he need to have a law that allows him to shut AIT down, and wouldn't the law be made by the National Assembly? Or do you just open your mouth and say whatever comes out first without having it processed by your brain, logic and common sense (I'm assuming you have access to those).

PDP gradually learning to be an opposition! By the way, where were they when papers of media houses were confiscated back then? Where was PDP when two Aljazerra journalists were arrested and detained only recently? What was PDP's response to AIT's hate campaign against GMB early in the year? PDP should better shut up and learn to react constructively to issues they were grossly guilty of!
