Patchesagain: Those are NA elite forces, unless a dullard like you think those are regular troops. The 72 strike force uses AK-47, Nigerian SF standard is Travor, and their training is overseas after NDA....PMC do not train Nigerian elite troops. 120 men in the 72 strike force are just a new unit for mobile duty, that does not make them the real elite.....our real Elite are the SF.....they killed Shekau I inside his camp....72 Strike force was not even born then, those guys have only 3 months experience after PMC training.....NA commando elites have been fighting war for over 10 years consistently.....that's the real elite. You know nothing about what makes an elite force, you think PMC training is the qualification....Olodo . 2 Likes |

Why would a private company be needed to create an entire infantry unit within the Nigerian army? I wonder. Surely there are more than enough officers within Nigeria to do this. -Nigerians know the enemy better than the private company -Know the specific terrain better than the company -Know the people better Whole unit developed on your own soil, your own back yard. Might as well call it 72 Strike Force Pty (Ltd). 1 Like |

saengine: The US used military contractors in their War of Independence and had more contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan than it did troops, in fact in every conflict since the Balkans military contractors have made up at least 50% of deployed personnel. Nigeria hired a Nigerian Security firm (Pilgrims security ltd) to provide specific services which included maintenance and the ground training of troops in the use of recently acquired hardware. Pilgrims security did not create a new infantry unit, the 72 mobile strike force, is part of the 72 Special forces bn based in markurdi . They aren't a new unit, they maintain a doctrine of relentless pursuit, never hold ground, just pursue the enemy and hit him with overwhelming firepower. What it means is, the unit has to have dedicated access to MI-35m's, Gazelle Helicopters, Super-Pumas and additional tactics..... some of which have never been previously used. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Patchesagain: Pilgrims security is a Nigerian Firm. The Nigerian Government hired a Nigerian firm to provide specific services. There's no evidence that the government of Nigeria hired South-Africans. The 72 mobile strike force isn't Nigeria's most elite unit, it isn't even a Special forces unit. It is a SOF unit. Nigerian Army Special forces is the army's special forces unit. The Navy Special boat service is Navy's Special forces unit. The Airforce QRF is the unit for the Airforce. The DSS Spec Ops unit, are the S.F of the DSS. The 72 strike for are only a Highly mobile unit, similar to the 75th Ranger Regiment. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

* [/quote]uote author=Patchesagain post=33206501]i know you are bored, patchesagain. so i am going to leave you with an interesting read from a fellow safa who wrote this facts and truth in his own blog in 2015. suprisingly every single thing i have said over the past year was comfirmed by him. enjoy: you have it in black and white. The South African military requires "skilled" people to join the military. They are also relaxing the quota system to encourage more Whites to join. Of course they can't put "skilled" and "White" in the same sentence. That would be admitting that they need Whites for their intelligence and they can't have that. No, they just need skilled people and if they happen to be White then they're in with a chance. It seems that the military doesn't have enough people with functioning brains to operate all the equipment bought during the Arms Scam Deal. The equipment is now lying around rotting away because the IQ67's don't know how to operate any of it. Or it's broken because the IQ67's tried operating it...... like the 3 submarines. The air force has grounded fighter jets because they don't have enough pilots. SA National Defence Union national secretary Pikkie Greeff said the military found itself in a position because "when they started awarding exit packages they let go too many of the racial groupings that they now want to increase". In other words, they let go the capable, battle-hardened White military personnel to replace them with that marvellous and highly respected army, Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK). Yes sirree. Here was the second best military in the world and it was handed over to a bunch of liberation fighters who couldn't fight their way out of a clear plastic bag - even with directions. The ANC rushed to replace all the generals and other White officers with their equivalent officers from MK. (cough-BS-cough) The result has been oh, so predictable. The military is now a joke. Another crumbling state-run entity, which are now reduced to begging White boys to come back and save them. Yeah, what a dream. Join the military and have IQ67 officers ruling over you. Being outnumbered and sleeping in the barracks with the other IQ67's. Yeah, sounds like paradise. No, let the SA military recruit some of the millions of IQ67's sitting in their shacks watching the rubbish rot. Let them go die for their country for a change. Let them experience what the White boys and men had to endure, protecting the country as they did. They have done their time and now It's time for the Blacks to go do the same. Off you go. 1 Like 1 Share |

http://sofrep.com/40623/eeben-barlow-speaks-pt-2-development-nigerian-strike-force/ Eeben Barlow Speaks Out (Pt. 2): Development of a Nigerian Strike Force The chairman of STTEP, Eeben Barlow, reports, “Our relationship with the Nigerian government and the Nigerian Armed Forces is very good, and as fellow Africans, they recognize the value we have added thus far at the strategic, operational and tactical levels. An advanced party of South African military veterans working for STTEP landed in Nigeria by early January of 2015. Instead of social-media activism, they held a selection program for the elite Nigerian military unit they were to train while the main body of STTEP began to arrive. “It is a mobile strike force with its own organic air support, intelligence, communications, logistics, and other relevant combat support elements,” said Barlow. He declined to name the unit they were training, but an open source investigation strongly suggests this unit is the 72 Strike Force. By the time the main body of STTEP contractors arrived, the selection process for the Nigerian strike force was complete and training was able to commence immediately. “We built it from scratch,” Barlow explained, “and were able to, in a very short space of time, get it combat ready. The results this force achieved, along with the support of the Nigerian Army are indeed remarkable. The South Africans trained their Nigerian counterparts in the tactics, techniques, and procedures that they had practiced and refined on the battlefield since South Africa’s conflicts in the 1980s, including Barlow’s concept of relentless pursuit (which will be explored in a future article). Meanwhile, Boko Haram was experiencing an increase in operational tempo and achieving successes in their area of operations. With this in mind, STTEP’s mission quickly transitioned from training a rescue unit to training a rapidly deploying mobile strike force, and mentoring those they trained in the field. “By late February, the strike force conducted its first highly successful operational deployment,” Barlow said. 1 Like |

Henry120: Your head must be very confused and suffering from a serious brain damage. Pilgrims was established by South African in Nigeria as allowed to do so by Nigerian government. The owner then recruited South Africans majority of which were based in Iraq and some from South Africa. Don't try to play dumb because your government admitted by words taken from your number one citizen that it has hired PMCs from SA. What of Leon Lotz? |
