LadyGuinivere:

UK entry cancellation- No input
If you have been following this thread, you'l see a trend of families denied because of no previous travel history. I would advice you to achieve that ist. You could also apply alone with wife and daoughter as home tie but if I was the VO, I would wonder why you abandoned them this time around and interpret it as you not been attached to your family. Note: This is purely my opinion!

@LadyGuinivere,
Thank you very much! Like you rightly said its your own opinion so i respect that!
Yes, even though i have been following the thread here, i am still new (learner) here.
i love my family especially my wife and daughter, besides I have a good job and i will not want to be an Elian in another man land. my trips abroad basically as always been on training and vacations, i have been to Ghana, Gabon, Kenya, south Africa, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, France, uk.

Like i said in my initial statements, in the last five years I was in the UK 2012, me and my wife was in South Africa (for our first vacation as couple) 2013, but we are yet to travel with our new born daughter as family.

my UK entry was cancelled it’s a long story,

i was supposed to be in the UK Nov 2011 (for the first time) for my cousin graduation but my visa was not approved until the graduation was over,

My greetings to everyone in the house. I'm planning to go on holiday in US few months time. The issue am worrying about now is that i got expired South Africa which is non used on my passport, and also a 2012 UK refusal stamp on it. So, i will like to know if this will be a problem or not when its time to apply for the US visa. And also what are the documents am going to need to package the US visa application for holiday and tourism. Thanks!

All you need is on this thread. Jst take ur time and read thru frm page 1.

Cheers.

You ve a very good travel history. If i may, why was your uk visa revoked? It's understandable if you dnt wanna go into it in detail, but jst ansa this. Was it because of mis-information or mis-representation on your part? You'll definitely be asked during the interview wt the reason is. So, be prepared to answer truthfully ok?

@Prof. and those that decided to extend their date of travel after been issued visa!

tanks i guess it some like that!

i was supposed to be in the UK Nov 2011 (for the first time) for my cousin graduation but my visa was not approved until the graduation was over,

I was advised by my cousin to postpone my visit till February 2012 since I couldn't make it for the graduation, he said by then (2012) he would have applied for his annual leave from work and his wife also would have put to bed late November 2011.

I finally made the trip on the 3rd of January 2012. Upon my arrival at Heathrow airport, The UK board agent asked for my purpose of visit, I told her I am on a visit to my cousin and his family, she asked where my cousin lives, I told her he lives in Hampshire, (sincerely I didn't no differences between London and Hampshire, because he had always mentioned Hampshire, Portsmouth and isle of Wight in our phone conversion) She also asked what my cousin does, I said a sales administrator (I sincerely said that out of confusion instead of ble ble.)

I was asked to step aside, my passport and other documents I had with me was retained. I was taken to where my lodges were to pick them up and it was thoroughly searched, she asked how much money was on me I told her 1400pounds and I also have my master card with me, I was asked to sign some forms and later my finger print was taken and my eye test too was taken. I was later taking to a waiting area where I saw other people waiting to be questioned I guess. I was asked to drop my phone and every other thing I had on me. I met another Nigerian who told me that I am been detained. He advised me there to call my cousin and alert him of what was going on which I deeded. I had to use some of my money to buy call units which I use to call him on a pay phone inside the so called waiting area.

I was later transfer to another man who put me through all kind of test and further questioning for so many hours. The man asked me of my relationship with the cousin’s, I told him is my cousin. He asks of my employment, education and marital status of which I answered him without mixing words. He told me he had called the hotel i booked to stay in London and the hotel reservation has been cancelled (I sincerely don’t know any about this), he also told me he had called my claimed cousin and that even though my cousin admitted that we are cousins but my cousin still said we are not cousin.

he said my visa has been cancelled and I will be deported back to Nigeria the next day even after answering all his questions, he told me he had called the hotel that i booked and it had been cancelled, that all my answers are just about the same story they hear every day from Nigerians. I tried convincing him that I am a different and

But to my surprise I was told they've spoken to my cousin and I will be given a temporary leave to remain and appeal against the cancellation. I was given another form to sign and some papers showing I was under detention and I am still on watch. I signed and was released.
I never bother going to the hotel I booked for since I was told that it has been cancelled, I went with my cousin to his house in Portsmouth where I stay throughout my stay. me and my cousin approached an immigration lawyer to find a way out of the whole matter, which we were told it’s not certain to get through it seven days, he gave me options of extending my stay to appeal or return home (Nigeria) and appeal from home. Since i have my job back home and i do not have the luxury of time to stay out of work i return and appealed from home.

As at the time I send my first appeal form I applied for an oral hearing with the hope my cousin will be available for the hearing. But unfortunately he declined the he wouldn't be able to make it for the hearing. I tried all I could defending myself but to no avail. at the end my appeal was turned down up holding the ECO saying that i have made false representations that i am not related to my cousin as claimed.
Re: Usa Visit Visa by Nobody: 7:50pm On Apr 26, 2015
Wisepole I am so sorry about your entry cancellation, I was almost in that shoe sometimes ago at the uk border, it's just when you meet an overzealous officer i'm telling you, after I showed them pepper they let me through because I didn't take it easy with them and I didn't sign any papers, after the ukba officer saw that I put up I don't care attitude, he stamped me in and after then I have renewed severally, the reason for my own detention was because of the country I came from an my p.o.e was Greece na so the over zealous officer talk say that is quite suspicious, and Nigerians don't really come from that route and I had a return ticket for 10 days time o so I drag am well well, and I even asked for breakfast because i told them I was being over stressed
Re: Usa Visit Visa by Nobody: 7:51pm On Apr 26, 2015
wisepole you have a pretty good travel history, I think you should give the US a trial
Re: Usa Visit Visa by LadyGuinivere: 8:27pm On Apr 26, 2015
Wisepole sorry. Seems you were a victim of over trust. You have no idea what your 'cousin' told UKBA and then he refused to be around for the appeal. What a traumatic journey, eish!
Anyways, if you are asked during the US interview you say the truth. Highest is you'l be placed on administrative proccessing and the veracity of your story will be confirmed. Since u haven't travelled as a family, maybe you should try solo.
Good luck

wisepole:

VO: have you ever travelled as a family?
Me: no, but, I was in the UK 2012 and me, my wife were in South Africa 2013, we are yet to travel together as family.

VO: sorry you are not eligible this time, I am going to give you back your passport and this paper.

End…A white paper was handed over to us with our passports. Now I will like to reapply but I am not sure if I should do that alone or with my family. Another thing about my last application is that I have a uk entry cancellation on my passport, although the vo never asked any question about that during our last application and I don’t know if it contributed to why we were refused or not.
.

Your UK visa cancellation might not have any effect on your US visa application (as long as the VO is satisfied that you meet there requirements, visa issuance is solely at the discretion of the VO after looking at your overall profile vis-vis other things in your application) but if they ask you during your interview, summarize all that happened, reasons for the cancellation etc.

Secondly, in my opinion,it is either you visit a Schengen country with your family and then re-apply for the US visa, that will knock off the issue of lack of family travel and also shows a significant change of circumstances for you and boost your chances of obtaining the US visa with your family..... wink

I am really sorry about wt happened k? You can apply for a US visa, afterall you and ur wife travelled 2 yrs ago together. I guess your baby came after ur trip, yea? So apply and give appropriate answers to questions asked.

Maintain eye contact.
Explain in simple but clear terms, the reason for the uk tingy if asked.
Be calm, and the visa is all yours.

But be reminded that the consulate would investigate the matter even after clearance to be issued a visa. If contradictory evidences are brought to light, one may get a call on the day one is supposedly to go collect the visa/passport, rescheduling another interview which will most likely end in a denial.

You do not need to get a new passport if your passport expires next December. Your visa is still valid even when your passport expires. All you will need is a new valid passport and your expired passport with a valid visa in it.

There's this thing with statistical numbers. "They keep changing". So I'd urge you to book ur appointment ASAP. You dnt ve to wait till the "last minute". You may nt get a choiced date if you delay.

You dnt need anymore docs than a farmer needs his cutlass. You passport, DS160 confirmation slip with code numbers matching those of the receipt are all the basic docs u need. Oh, and ur passport photos too.
Evry other doc you choose to ve is only because u want to ok?

Yap, the fee hasnt changed.

The requirement is to ve a passport that is valid for at least 6 months b4/ after ur intended date of travel ( nt sure of which at d moment) So, with almost two yrs on ur passport, you're good to go.

cheers

Good Day everybody,

Some years ago, i got denied a US visa to go for a conference held in Chicago. I am a registered member with annual fee subscription of an international food association which has their members across the globe and will converge this year to hold the 25th world forum and symposium. While booking appointment, do i need to start a fresh registration or continue to sign in using my already existed account on the appointment site? If so, i do i alter the passport number that has previously being input on the appointment site cos i just got a re-issue passport with different passport number. What are my chances of getting visa, my marital status has currently change.

Family visa might be given better judgment but none is
easier or harder. It has to do with the applicant (s).

My advice is whatever it is your tie to USA, kindly
state it during application.

Moreso, it will be better she invite your mom, I mean
your aunt over there.

Tie to USA? that has nothing to do with visiting (holiday) visa.

They are mostly interested in your "strong ties to return home"
PROOF that you will leave at the end of your visit. Not just you saying so!
Family, children, Letter of leave from employer, managed landed property. Things like that.

Then they might ask what are you going to do there.

MzSunshine let me make this as simple as possible.
Nobody can predict VOs. Families have gotten, Families have been denied. Single applicants have gotten and been denied too. So just go with your guts . Each person above 18 will be adjudged based on his own so one person's eligibility will not rub off on the other person.
Lastly , if you have family in the US, fill so. Remember your mom has applied before and she prolly filled that column. By the way why was ur ma refused visa? How old is she?
