Ph. D Research Topic In The Area Of Vehicle Electrical Rewiring For Elect. Eng. by Nobody: 10:08am On Apr 28, 2015 |
Hello guys this maybe rather of topic. But I need ur help all the same. I am seriously looking to do my Ph.D research in the field of Electrical rewiring systems. I am targeting this area cos I intend to use my Ph.D programme to acquire some much needed practical knowledge that may be later on commercialised. My area is Electrical Engineering. I do hope people like Gazzuzz or is it gazzuz and siena or is it sienna and other experienced folks may probably assist in suggesting which area to look at due to there wide spread experience and exposure. Pls assist to share with someone you know maybe of help even if you cant. Best Regards. |

Alot of research and development is ongoing on miniaturizing and increasing the communication speeds between control modules, sensors etc which paves ways to LIN ,CAN and others technology in automobiles communication protocol . Vendors especially BWM are now thinking along side of introducing wireless with fibre along the communication Bus in order to do away with physical wires which eventually goes a long way in reducing the fuel economy(due to reduced weight factor ) and give extremely superfast ultra speed communication protocol ,however inherent wireless security concern has been a limiting factor . So if u can research on along the line of unbreakable wireless security communication protocol within the modular bus highway ,i think it can really explode more than u can imagine . But dont forget to pay my title wen its become real sha o |

honmusa: Wow ! thanks boss...Very insightful but the challenge I have is that my supervisor and my options are in Electrical machine and power systems. Venturing into wireless communications will take me into communication engineering which is not my major. I am a bit opposed to wireless and communications cos my supervisor will kick against it cos of the reasons i stated earlier. Am looking at anything that has to do with modification or improvement on the present vehicle electrical wiring system. An attempt to optimise battery/ power utilisation or something along that line will be welcome. Regards. |

You can research on the possibility of adopting a 42volt system in the car instead of the conventional 12volt system. As you are aware the electrical demand of newer car models is on the increase. Best wishes! |

tobiak: Good morn bro, thanks for ur input but I posit that a 42Volts requirement might be a disadvantage. I mean now that we are moving towards the era of solar powered cars and all, a higher power demand will require more resources which is not desirable. However am open to any justification to consider raising the power demand. Regards. |

We are in the era of drive by wire where most mechanically controlled systems on the car are now electrically controlled. For you to increase the voltage to 42volt, you have two options. From ohms law, V=IR. You either increase the voltage or increase the current, the latter will require very fat wire which does not make sense. Guitarlife: |
