Henry120: Are you saying that the Olifant Mk2 is the same as a centurion tank? You are saying that there is absolutely no difference? Answer yes or no |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:51am On Apr 29, 2015 |
Henry120: Yes, that is an old one we use for target practice. Not a new, extensivly upgraded one, in service in the SANDF |

Henry120: 38 Mk1A/B 26 Mk2 131 composed of Mk1/Mk1A/B in storage The Mk1 is completely different from the Centurion And, FYI, Isrealy Centurions did just fine against Egyptian T-72s in the 6 Day war |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:57am On Apr 29, 2015 |
Henry120: Over 56 of them with more advanced equipment and systems than your T-72 You have less than 12 T-72's in service |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:58am On Apr 29, 2015 |
Henry120: I dont think you know what the term "main battle tank" means |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:59am On Apr 29, 2015 |
Henry120: Thats a Centurion. That is not an Olifant Mk1A/B or Mk2 So no, that is not our tank. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:01am On Apr 29, 2015 |
Henry120: That is a centurion. That is not an Olifant Mk1A/B or Mk2 So no, that is not our mbt. And fyi we have 68 in service all have been upgraded to at least the MK1B standard. Reserve MBT's are in varying states of upgrade |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:02am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust: We have 68 in service all have been upgraded to at least the MK1B standard. You have less than 12 T-72s We are going to replace the Olifant.... your brand new tank is allready obsolete |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:07am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust: Olifant has composite armor. Olifant superior FCS and optics will enable us to engage you before you can engage us and with better accuracy. Crew kills are not necessary to take your tank out of the battle, we could track you, destroy the ability of your turret to turn (hit the turret rim) or hit the weak armor around your engine. Plus, lack of spalling-liners on the inside of your T-72 mean that we can kill your crew without getting a penetration. Brah, you wanna talk tanks? Tanks are my forte. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:08am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust: Problem is that we have been upgrading them as we need them. Composit armor additions are installed as we need. We have no threats that posses heavy armor thus MBT's are a low priority for us... just like they have allways been. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:08am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust: How, Olifant has superior optics and FCS, we can engage you at longer distance and with superior accuracy. You only have less than 12 T-72's. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:09am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust: Thank you for proving that you do not have 100 T-72's!! You have committed suicide!! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:10am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust: Yes, the 90 Cuban and Angolan tanks our Ratles and Olifants knocked killed in one battle. |

agaugust:Can you read Bro!! Your source state that the Czech army sold 58 tanks to the Excalibur group, not to the Nigerian army. your own source/s state that you are receiving only 16 armored vehicles including the T72s: "16 vehicles in total get to be transported to Nigeria" 1 Like |

Patchesagain:The production of the MK1B carried on right threw most of the Nineties, we produced about 170 mk1Bs, 26 of them were upgraded to MK2 standard. A few MK1Bs were also cannibalized for spares and so forth. 1 Like |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 5:50am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust:"ONLY 26 have modern armour" MK2s and MK1Bs have the same armor, thus we have over 150 with Composite Armor, the only difference between the MK2 and MK1B is their FCS's. 1 Like |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 5:59am On Apr 29, 2015 |
agaugust:"only about 10 % of your Olifants got modern armour upgrade" Over 170 MK1Bs were produced! some of them were scraped for parts and 26 were upgraded to MK2 standard, there is also no difference between the armor on the MK1B and MK2. "One Boko Haram RPG with HEAT warhead will tear 200 units of SANDF Olifant tanks into pieces" Olifant armor composes of Reactive as well as Passive armour, thus HEAT warhead will do nothing! 1 Like |

Patchesagain:oh cut the crap. everything about south Africa is racial. can one really discuss south without race? hell no. from the way your incompetent military is constituted is racial. filling it up with freedom fighters and black personnel who are dimwits. that is the true image of South Africa if you are honest. keep improvising excuses, it makes an interesting pastime. |

The master of Nigerian military, Mr Barlow, today on the radio from Mauritius, on holiday spending money from fools said Nigeria called him again for another offer. |

FighterPilot: Bwhahahahaha Your own source k.illed y.ou pata-pata Col. Barlow side, the tide turned against Boko Haram and the credit goes to the Nigerian army, NOT South African mercenaries who did not exist in that war......imaginary phantom SA Mercenaries DO NOT EXIST in Boko war. All that came was a small 5 man trainer team as private military company to train 120 men strike force of low rank troops....corporals, privates, sergeants... . Nigeria trained SANDF-SAAF army/air force chiefs of staff, top rank Generals ! The Army that defeated Boko Haram is the 150,000 man Nigerian army......with a 0.0001 % support from the 120 men trained by Barlow....ordinary 120 men with AK-47 rifle, HMG and MRAP. Nigerian army of 150,000 men turned the war tide with T-72 tanks, Bofors FH-77 artillery, BTR-4E IFV, Palmaria artillery, BVP-1 IFV, RM-60 MRLS, LG-3 AGL, Scorpion tanks, etc....All used by Nigerian troops trained by Nigerian officers for many decades. End of story.....NO South African mercenary fired one bullet in battle against Boko Haram....war victory credit goes to Nigerian army according to South African Col. Eben Barlow .

He received his flying training at Frunze 1 Central Officers Training Center - Kirghizstan, in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics from 1986 to 1991. He graduated from the institution with a diploma in Command & Tactics of Military Aviation.[5] He was a member of the Umkhonto WeSizwe (MK), the military wing of the African National Congress and saw combat[citation needed] in Angola in 1986. In 1994, he completed the Air Force Junior Staff Course in Zimbabwe before integrating into the South African National Defence Force.[6] He was appointed assistant project officer on Project Flange (the acquisition programme of the Agusta A109) in Italy where he also completed the Senior Staff Course at the Italian Air Force War School. On his return from Italy, Msimang was then appointed Officer Commanding of the Helicopter Flying School at Air Force Base Bloemspruit.[7] In 2005, he was appointed Officer Commanding Air Force Base Bloemspruit and promoted to the rank of Colonel. In 2006, he completed the Executive National Security Programme at the South African National Defence College. In June 2007, after a two and a half year tour as Officer Commanding Air Force Base Bloemspruit, he was appointed Director Helicopter Systems and promoted to the rank of Brigadier General at the Air Command.[6] In November 2010, he was appointed Chief Director Air Policy and Plans and promoted to the rank of Major General responsible for Air Force strategy, policies, capabilities and resource allocation.[6] Msimang became the Chief of the Air Force on 1 October 2012.[8] http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_Msimang |

This is what Mr Barlow had to confess about Nigerian military, that they were organised and trained such that they were to fail in any combat. I must confess that we were somewhat disappointed in what our NA colleagues had been taught by "outside" trainers, Leonard. It also reconfirmed my belief that many of our armies are set up to fail as they get bad advice and poor training. Put those two factors together and soldiers cannot other than fail in their mission.I was from this sad state of affairs that I commented on window-dressing training. The Nigerian Army will win its own battles and as I have on numerous occasions commented, troops can only do what they were trained to do. Now that a different approach has become clear, I am confident the NA will exploit this and go on to make all Nigerians and Africans proud. Patchesagain: Citation needed....now !! jln115again: Nope, South African education is a failure even for you a white man You say 16 vehicles including T-72 tanks. The source you are reading says T-72 tanks and 16 other types of vehicles. You see what your 'Top Ranking' South African education can do to disgrace your country? Zimbabwean brains are superior to South Africans' . "The Czech arms dealer Excalibur Group will deliver modernized Soviet-made tanks T-72 M1 and 16 other vehicles ." "Czech company Excalibur Group, led by a former armorer Pavel Strnad, managed to acquire as many as 58 T-72 tanks (T-72M1 variant) from Hungary to sell them – with other heavy military equipment – to the army of Nigeria , locked in a savage conflict with Boko Haram." http://ftr.wot-news.com/2015/02/01/czechs-sell-tanks-to-nigeria-to-fight-boko-haram/ http://www.praguepost.com/the-big-story/44075-nigeria-buys-czech-weapons-to-fight-boko-haram Now you see why I usually refuse to re-post old sources for you and insist you go back and search it out yourself from the archives? It's because I discovered that you are not worth the waste of time.....even when we give you sources, you still cannot read and understand simple English language....then all the efforts to prove things to you, becomes a waste of time and energy even with clear evidence and sources. South African brains cannot read and understand a simple short comprehension passage....worst schools in Africa Nigeria has over 100 T-72 tanks already, about 200 will be total final numbers. CASE CLOSED . |

agaugust: Now we know that Nigerian military can only fight up to Mr Barlow standard just like every Nation that Mr Barlow has trained. SANDF has plenty of war mongers and strategists with big minds and ideas that supersede that of Barlow more than 20 times. For now at least we know that your Air force, Army and elite forces can only fight up to Barlow's ideas and strategies. We will learn you new lessons and tactics that Boko Haram failed to give you. We will definitely mete out fire power that you have never seen. Nigerian military of Mr Barlow's standard. http://eebenbarlowsmilitaryandsecurityblog..com/2015/04/feeding-narrative_25.html?m=1 |
