You will definitely get a direct bus from Peace Mass Transit and other companies along Mokola-Ojoo road. I mentioned PMT because it was my choice during the my one year Nysc. Just paid for Enugu and tell the driver you will be dropping at Umunya Camp junction before OYI. It's just a 100 bike from the junction to the camp.

How's the Movement from Onitsha?

You'll find a bus going to umunya from onisha. If you can't find, then take Awka and alight at umunya they would stop you at the gate of the camp.

The camp is a secondary school, the environment isn't that good it may have changed by now anyway, and remember to take enough cash with you cos there aren't any banks within the camp's vicinity.

Finally, try to arrive during the day, cos the walk from the camp gate to the main camp is quite a distance. Bike men hang around the gate during the day to take you inside but if you arrive there at night, you'll have a big problem finding your way to the main camp from the gate.

Anambra just got a new State Coordinator (Mrs Rubica) such a darling & caring lady, coupled with the love been extended to Corp Members by the ever working state governor (Willie Obiano). I bet you will enjoy your service year.

Pls be smart, when you get to Onitsha, the drivers will make you pay through your nose, some pple were made to pay as high as #1500 - #2000.
Onitsha to Umunya is less than #200 also bike from the junction to the camp is #100 (Otondo price). Pls don't travel by night else . . .

Hey Guys, I'm from Anambra State but will be serving in Bayelsa State. I hope my piece of information will help some of you here. 1. Our own very Governor Willie Obiano has made it near possible for your security to be guaranteed. So, don't panick but that doesn't mean you should arrive the orientation camp at the dead of the night because that area is veeeeeery lonely. 2. If you are coming from Lagos or from southwest, board a bus going to Onitsha. When you alight at upper iweka(most popular park) in Onitsha. Ask around & enter a bus going to Awka #200 (if ur luggages are much, ur price will increase) Once u enter d bus don't forget to remind the driver or conductor that you'll be alighting @ NYSC Camp Umunya. Infact sing it as a song to the driver. When u get to Umunya, bike men will be around to take u inside the camp. 3. Take loads of cash because there are no banks around. Like i said earlier that area is lonely and be mindful about your handbag, purse or wallet. 4. If you are the flexing type, pray they will post u to Awka, Onitsha or Nnewi for your PPA. (Ur money counts oooo). 5. In some Local Governments, there are some animals and reptiles u don't dare to kill. E.g in Idemili north & south L.G (very sure), don't u EVER i repeat EVER try to kill a python cos u'll bury it ceremonially like a human being. 6. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS. I hope I helped with this six points of mine, safe journey to you all & welcome to the Light of the Nation. U guys should also wish me well as I go to Bayelsa State.
