Niger state is cool only if ur ppa is with in bida, minna, suleja, kontagora, new bussa....Niger state has one of the largest road network in Nigeria, you could be driving like 5 to 6hrs within the state esp if u coming from lagos through kwara state. Those coming from lagos can get minna bus in otto oyingbo and the final bustop is either mobil or kpakungu where u get a cab to paiko camp. Had my service year at the ssg's office 2012/2013 batch b and am still based in minna. 1 Like |

yokiti: My Oga, Longest time sir. Hope you're doing great. Congrats to all of you posted to Niger state. I welcome you all with two hands and one leg. If you need anything feel free to contact me @ all. I was born and bred here in Minna, finished from FUT Minna too and was posted back here (I absolutely had no hand in it). Niger is a great place, especially if you're in any of those 5 zones mentioned but no limited to them. I have friends in rural places that are flexing away and having fun. Some places are not so popular but only people there know the enjoyment there. I have a friend that was posted to Borgu Local Government. Everybody told her its a village, its this and that, she cried and cried. Few weeks later, story change oo. She sent me pictures of the accomodation provided by her PPA, my room sef no fine reach am.. lol (pictures attached) So I advice everyone to just have an open mind. Its just 10 Months. 1 Like

One of the current challenges you might face after camp at the moment though is heat and bad light (this is a recent development, light used to be excellent here). We're not sure what's wrong but for some months now, light hasn't been great. 8hours daily on average. Well it's good for me as I have been selling alot of powerbanks lately to corpers (I have special discounts for corpers), NYSC officials, and the general public. Everybody needs it right now. |

petra22: Hahaha, ta lo so be? Don't mind them jare. The hostels are Ok, not as bad as it sounds. After the first week or two though, they can get pretty nasty especially the male ones. This is what the female hostel looks like. Kaabo omo Eko 1 Like

Estellar: Things are very cheap here (food stuffs). I bet you'll save a lot of cash here. The people are nice to corpers in fact they love corpers. At times you get some stuffs free or cheap when you put on corpers uniform. There are lots.of things that'll make you wanna stay back... if only you ask, I'll gist you more. |

petra22: Coping? I'm used to it. I have been here for over 25years Had my Nursery, Primary, Secondary and tertiary edu here. |
Re: Was Posted To Niger. by kilmix: 6:31am On Apr 30, 2015 |
sparkleRed: I can only think of 2 reasons. 1. The place is a secondary school so I guess the students destroyed the sockets (you know in Naija we don't repair) 2. Pple pay camp officials to get space to run commercial charging, so it will be unfair if same camp officials provide sockets in the hostels. |
