Nigerian press is the worst worldwide. I listened to the speech and never saw where this man showed fear nor anxiety rather he was admonishing them to support him in his quest to take Nigeria out from it's current dismal position. Still TANkids have found another headline they will feed on. I urge Seun to sack all his mods and do this job himself even if it will make only 3 front page posts per day.

Relax. This is only the beginning. Every government will have this type of treatment. When it was Sahara Reporters attacking GEJ many of us all cheered them abi?

GEJ had his with Sahara Reporters
Obama had his with Fox News
Buhari has his own now with Vanguard Newspapers.

Oil price was low when all the campaign promises were made, i do not understand the challenge we are hearing of now. I have said before that i have chosen not to have great expectation based on the campaign promises. The oil price during campaign and now has not changed. One of the promises was to make oil price go to $100. It is easy to make campaign promises but now there realities are obvious.

GMB was addressing NASS members during their induction course, where he mentioned 8 challenges that his administration will face on assumption of office. These include Falling oil prices, Insecurity, Youth Unemployment, Power, De-industrialization, Environmental Pollution in ND, Rebuilding of ravaged NE, etc.

Typically, though, the media has singled out Falling Oil Price so as to create a sensational headline. Baba is not making any excuses, he was simply being pragmatic and calling on the Legislature to join/support the Executive as developmental partners to tackle these 8 challenges.

I thought ur baba said he would stabilize oil price when he assumes office. Or was he high on orijin when he said that?

I think it is best for people to read the body of the news and get proper understanding before commenting. You should not allow the media to just play on your intelligence with buzzy headlines, afterall, are there not other challenges mentioned there?. Baba has never been a one chance and He will never be. He only listed challenges and not excuses, so do not see it as any issue. We are all aware that He is able and will deliver, so its too early to start jumping at a wrong conclusion. If you have problem with this, then maybe you should try and get a better understanding of the difference between excuses and chanllenges.

APC led government at their least capacity is far better than whatever PDP government has to offer. As a party that has acted as an opposition for almost 3 decades, I'm dead sure that they can't afford to underperform with this opportunity they just got.
Buhari might open your eyes to the real problems facing his mission, but he us not going to underperform. You can hate and comment mindlessly as you want. But in 4 years time, you guys will definitely hide your face in shame.
I believe this man knows what he is talking about unlike the clueless slowpoke from Otuoke who doesn't see stealing as corruption. Who doesn't believe corruption is a menace to our economy and development.
There is room for pessimsm and cynism but whatever u wish for this new dispensation is what will definitely befall you.

Baba trepidation. Was the price of oil not down while you were campaigning and promising to stabilize world oil price?

This one never even enter and he's already shaking like a fish outside of water.

Don't worry Baba. Not all Nigerians are that thick and we know you can only do your bit.

Pathetic piece of junk journalism. Truly of the worst kind.

If the Vanguard continues like this I'm certain they would lose readership.

The General made it clear that there are challenges which for sure he would face in rebuilding an already battered economy. This includes the dwindling price of oil in the international market.

He asked for cooperation and commitment by all. But in the twisted minds of the Vanguard editors, the best headline was to find a kink in his statement so as to slaughter him.

It may well pay them today. But it would certainly come back to haunt them.

This just proves the theory that Buhari was elected due to the conspiracy of the north and west to disenfranchise the south south and south east! Not because he is competent.

Guess what Nigeria, no change is coming!

We were by far better off with GEJ.

READ THE ARTICLE, IGNORE THE HEADLINE.

GMB never said he is going back on any promises, but stated common sense which is that plans made with 2 naira in mind will be more challenging to achieve when at the end of the day, you earn only 1 naira through no fault of yours.

Hopefully when our stolen $20b is returned by GEJ and his cronies among other funds, even more can be done by the General to rebuild Nigeria after 16 years in PDP's wilderness.

So Nigeria was SO GREAT A COUNTRY until PDP came to power abi? The way you guys wants to rewrite history is really crazy

Has He assumed Office Yet? People like you dont take time to read, before jumping to conclusion, The fact that He even promised to stabilise oil prices indicates the acceptance that the issue is existing which he is only reiterating in this case, so why jump to that shallow conclusion. Mind you, stabilising Oil prices is nothing automatic, so leave him and let him perform rather than attacking him even before beginning His administration.

WELL, OIL PRICE SHOULD NOT EVEN COME UP HERE. HE MUST REGULATE OIL PRICE AS PROMISED. OIL PRICE HAS COME DOWN WHEN HE MADE HIS PROMISES. SO BABA, NO EXCUSS.

It's good to be objective. When Mrs Okonjo-Iwuala made statements along this line about the economy, she was abused and ridiculed by your like minds.
Don't spin this to look good/right.
