My fellow Biafrans for how long shall we continue to seek for crumbs when people from ogbomosho and jigawa are supper rich cutesy of our resources.

Dangote is about to lay yet another pipe strait through your skull into the ground to suck you dry, rather than resist and demand for what is what you again and again fighting over crumbs.

take your brains back from the Hausa and yoruba's, you need to realize that you deserve more than pipeline securities.

Did the National Confab recommend resources control?

If GEJ could not develop his region for 5 years, are you gonna blame a northerner for ND neglect.

I repeat the millitants can burn down every thing, it's thier land.

This is just the point and the bitter truth. Jonathan has been in power for 5 yrs now with almost nothing to show in the region. I still cannot believe that Jonathan could not build and finish Ibaka Seaport at Akwa Ibom and now he is about to leave. This is just astonishing!

Its time for the people of the Niger Delta to come together and demand that all resources inherent in their lands and environments be controlled only by them.

I don't support the destruction of infrastructure and other violent acts.

Niger Deltans have had enough. It is unfair that their resources are being commercialized and used to run an inefficient and useless entity like Nigeria.

Enough is Enough.

Are you foolish enough to believe that you can fully "develop" a region in five years after decades of neglect?

Five years is not very long and 'development' is an ongoing process. A couple of states (AKS and Cross River) have made great strides in terms of development - this tells me that with "resource control" they will develop at a greater pace. They have already long left the northern states in the dust.

Instead of paying a small royalty to the center from what is earned internally the ND states are seeing their wealth go to the Federal government and then a tiny amount comes back in increments, that is not equitable.

Every state should be encouraged to explore the natural resources within its own borders.

Nna Men!

Its about 'Pipeline Surveillance job' Few weeks back heard them making complains that were unattended now there's an explosion.
Which way Nigeria??

More than 85% oil blocks are owned by northern individuals.

Individuals should stop owning oil blocks some receive as much as 2-4 billion naira monthly on these blocks for no work done.

The real owners of the oil blocks are the communities where these oil blocks are found and some compensation should be given to them
like royalty also to carry out development in these region. Its theirs its only right thinking for them to gain from their land.

NNPC should unveil oil block owners.

That is an unjust act on SS people, worse than this missing $20bn NNPC thing , we are currently talking about.

Crazy to think most people not having any affiliation with the oil community land owners every month receive upto about 4 Billion Naira while the communities are marginalized. Chai!
The system is so sickening.

You do not understand "resource control" if you think that 13% is what that means.

If you were taxed at 87% and then given increments by way of things that you may or may not have asked, money that has to go through another body to come to you in the way of provisions, would you be happy?

At the end of the day, whose land is being polluted? Whose water is contaminated? Who suffers the environmental degradation? ND is just cutting off its nose to spite its face- Either way, they lose.
A few greedy individuals band together, blow up a few pipelines, issue a cut n paste statement and collect ransom money. Is this the resource control you're agitating for? Do you have potable water, adequate healthcare, social benefits and access to education presently? This oil is no longer a bargaining chip, and quite frankly, I foresee the ND bearing the brunt of their ignorance in the near future.
