Denel finishes acquisition of BAE Systems Land Systems South Africa

This could potentially be geat news for Project Sepula:

Denel now owns the RG35 which i think would be the best option for project Sepula, then they also have the RG41 which can fulfill any future requirement the SANDF might have:

RG35 a sh1t

turret-less Mbombe for the win.

I know, but SANDF has very few of it in service.

SANDF has about 236 units Olifant tanks, about 200 units of them are Olifant Mk 1 A with NO composite armour.....they are the ancient plain steel metal junks, they make up about 80 % of your useless tank force that will get eaten up by Boko Haram RPG with HEAT warhead shocked shocked

80 % of SANDF Olifant tranks are the old school weak armour types below ....

Sh1t? How so?
It has better range than the Mbombe.
Higher ground clearance.
Faster than the Mbombe.
Carries more troops.
And both have the same ballistics protection.

Nope, you are using a weblink of Olifant Mk 1B to make fraudulent claims of composite and ERA armour, the 177 tanks are a mix of MK 1A and MK 1B....you are a fraud....the old school MK 1A makes up about 80 % of all SANDF tanks and NO reactive armour ERA in SANDF, you have a large fleet of basic welded steel tanks and a few passive armour/composite units.....defenceweb SA proves you wrong :

Infantry man ? Privates, NCO, CO in Infantry units are all infantry men.....that is the name of their unit/regiment....not rank !

Fool.

You were trying to say the old grey haired SANDF NCO or CO don't go to war, they just train the privates, then I exposed your fraud by asking....who leads the infantry privates into battle ?

Senior NCO's and Senior officers sit in command bunkers and lead men in strategy, training and administration.

Junior NCO's and Junior Officers lead men in the field.

Same in every military, the average age of an 0-6 Colonel in the US Military is 45 years old while most Lieutenant Colonels are 50 years old. All us army officers of rank above captain can serve until the age of 60.

Yet again, you have no idea what you are talking about... you think Colonels and Staff Sergeants go charing into battle with the riflemen!!

Nope, of the 44 Olifant Mk 1 B, 26 were upgraded to MK 2.....not any extra 26 anywhere.

ALL the SANDF tanks with composite armour is 44 units.....a mix of Mk 1 B and Mk 2 combined.

"In September 2003, BAE Systems Land Systems OMC was awarded a contract to upgrade 13 Olifant Mk 1B tanks. Upgraded 44 Mk 1 A to Mk 1 B....then upgraded 26 Mk 1 B to Mk 2. That makes 44 tanks with composite armour, a mix of Mk 1 B and Mk 2.

Uhm.... did we say we dont have MK1As ? We said we produced over 170 MK1Bs, that doesnt mean we have 170 MK1Bs in service, as i also said before 26 MK1Bs were upgraded to MK2 standard, and some MK1B were scrapped for spares, as i also also said before we have a handful of MK1A used for Training and demonstration, and we even blow some up time to time just for fun: Pic 2 Rooivalk firing at MK1A.

"Development work on the Olifant Mk 1B commenced in 1983, with the first prototype being completed in 1985. Following trials with prototype vehicles by the South African Armoured Corps, the first production Olifant Mk 1B vehicles were completed in early 1991. It is believed that the first production batch of Olifant Mk 1B amounted to just under 50 vehicles. This upgrade programme has now been completed."

We received just under 50 MK1Bs in 1991, Production of the MK1B continued into the mid 90's.

See, the 58 T-72 tanks in that weblink are the ones from Czech alone.....we bought ERA versions from Ukraine, their numbers are classified and SIPRI says their source is also classified but suspected to be Ukraine by SIPRI.

Now its 58 tanks from Czech by air, and more than double that number from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian T-72 for Nigeria were the first to be posted here, the factory manager in Ukraine was interviewed in the video and he said they are Nigerian T-72 tanks .....
