The Fear Factor by Nobody: 7:24am On May 01, 2015
He walks into the organization/company for his job interview,he scanned people sitting/waiting to be interviewed.
Fear came to his rescue.
Fear-->Do you think you'll be employed??
He kept quiet
Fear-->Charles,DO YOU THINK YOU'LL BE EMPLOYED??
Charles-->I don't know (he said quietly while thinking about it)
Fear-->okay,you're having a lower credit, there are people having first class, seeking for the same job, you've no connection, what makes you..........

"Mr charles,it's your turn" The lovely secretary said and Charles walked in to be interviewed, but HE DIDN'T REBUKE THE FEAR FACTOR BEFORE GOING,his spirit, body and soul are coming in terms with that fear's outburst.

He entered and saw the board members sitting quietly with a big frown on their face.

Director--> Mr Charles, going through your cv,I see you've little or no experience, what makes you think you're qualified to be employed??

Charles-->(he fidgets) Eerm,I'm......you know
(Fear quickly whispers to him 'I told you') I really......uhm.....don't,you know.......I'm......

Director-->(smiles) It's okay, you can be on your way,if we have any information,we'll get to you through your contact address. Thanks

Charles walked out. (Another failed interview)

---------

Fear-->Tochi,my man,so you think they'll employ you, with no connection,I laugh you in swahili

Tochi-->I'm the most qualified candidate for this job,now crawl back from where you came from and tell them you are not up to the task.

Fear kept quiet.

"Mr Tochi,your turn sir"

He walks in 'swaggerliciously',confident and full of himself.

Director--> What gives you an edge over others??

Tochi-->That will be because I'm unique,I'm diFferent.

Director-->So why did you think we should employ you??

Tochi--> because anywhere I am,I always give in my best,if you employ me,you won't regret it because, there will be a change in your organization.

Director--> Thank you sir,we'll surely get back to you.

He walks out.
------
Now,what I'm trying to say is that WHATEVER you want to do in life,be positive, even if you don't have anything, just be positive, don't harbor negative thoughts.
Fear, for example,is the most dangerous weapon,at the same time,is the most powerless thing.
It's dangerous in the sense that,if you continue to nurture his thought without rebuking it,I'm sorry for you, especially if you mind connects with it,trust me,you'll fail woefully in your quest.
It's also powerless because it has no power of his own,it rely greatly on your reaction,if you rebuke it with confident, that's the end.
Note--> When you rebuke fear, don't do it for fun, once it knows you're doubting,it already have an edge over you.
If you're going for job interview, believe in yourself, let your mind be positive, tell yourself, you gat no type.
If you're going for exam,tell yourself,you're ready.
Don't,I repeat,Don't ever nurture negative thoughts, because once you do,your mind works with it and the result is failure

Goodluck!!!!!!

What about people who are dressed in the best cloth, but still lack confidence??

Yeah that's real bad.
I will regard that case as low self esteem.
They need to see a phychiatrist.

I wonder what will happen when he's asked to make a presentation in front of many people. Well, tell him to always remember to take a long deep breath.

Of course it does. It slows down the rate of heartbeat for a couple of seconds. I'm pretty sure your heart would have been beating very fast.

OP, while i feel you have a point, i'll like to defend those that have the fear factor. In a country like Nigeria where the rate of unemployment is sky high with millions of graduates jobless and scavenging through the streets with well-detailed rich resumés/CVs, one having that fear is normal though it'd be discarded. In a country where employment is based on 'family and friends', one's lack of faith in getting employed can be pardoned.

And TBH, it's more of lack of faith in getting a job in a high rate of unemployment than fear. Only a new job seeker would be afraid. A seasoned job seeker will only have the fear of not getting a job upon how impressive his CV and interview went than the fear you described in your aforementioned post.

Bros that's just a reason not an excuse.
There's no excuse for failure.
Success is never easy.. It requires you to step up your game at any cost

I couldn't have agree more
But,if you harbor this thought, before going for interview, you may likely perform accordingly to your thought.
Just stay positive, even if you have nothing!!

Being fearful is not a good one neither is being over confident. Yours sincerely was over confident at an interview and failed.
