King Leonidas died with the 300 Spartans when they fought the Persians, Thats a leader who died for what he believed in, he is more of a Hero than Ojukwu who led people into battle and fled to ivory coast when the chips were down....though he was brave to start the battle but a coward to flee and not die with his fallen soldiers..... 1 Like 1 Share |

Mrbigman1:During the first military coup, this coup was carried out by mostly Ibo soldiers. Abubakar Balewa, Ahmadu Bello, Samuel Akintola, Brig. Zakariya Maimalari(betrayed by the Ibo soldiers), Lt. Col. James Pam, Chief Ebo, etc were all killed. Some Ibo officers who were close to the Northern soldiers were also silenced, Ademulegun who tried to stop them was killed! I don't support what happened to ibos in North after the coup, but your leaders brought shame and oppression to you. It's better you accept this fact, they knew fully the consequences and effects it would later have but they still went on! Your leaders are the cause of your problems and its better you realize that before it's too late. The death of Murtala Muhammad had nothing to do with the civil war! Shagari was deposed due to the corruption that dwelt his government, Buhari was deposed by IBB. Finally IBB handed over to an interim government. So this events happened years after the civil war and they had nothing to do with the war. |

Godwin10123:This is what i don't get from these people,no one from southwest ever challenged boko haram massacre in the north, they all kept silence, people killed by boko haram are they less human than biafran war genocide victims. It baffles us the way they think in nigeria is not healthy at all, they worried so much for igbos and niger-deltas that fought biafran war more than innocent hausa and christian minority children being massacre by Islamist terrorist everyday.... The fear of east leaving the country worry them more than boko haram does is a pity 2 Likes |

Demmzy15: U failed to understand me. Since d first coup resulted civil war, Murtala was murdered cos his from old bendel state But the rest wia spared cos dey re fellow northerner. Think bro. What caused the way was just share hatred on a harmless group of persons. Before d war started, USSR came to ojukwu to pledge support but he turned down cos he myt not be ready for war, he just want to pull out peacefully. He went to Ghana and signed a peace accord and yet Gowon and Nigerians went against it. Dey just wanted to teach a group a lesson of death, dey wanted to exercise dia massacre filled brain but dey lost foot soldiers like bees. After d civil war, d only person who came close to leadership is just Alex ekwueme. Isn't it just funny? 1 Like |

Godwin10123: i understand your pain and the great injustice but dont misinterprete my message to hatred. When am talking about the hate speech presently, you can read my messages again and again, i categorically based my argument on all zone inciting the youth to violence, the North are guilty, the southwest is a culprit the southeast are guilty, we should just try and understand the basis for our existence |
Re: Flashback Pictures Of Nigeria Civil War by Demmzy15(m): 2:56pm On May 01, 2015 |
Mrbigman1:Firstly, Murtala Muhammad wasn't from Old Bendel, he was a core Northerner from Kano State, so your point on that is wrong. He is not even related to that region, his wife Ajoke was a yoruba woman! I'm thinking and reasoning very well with you! I don't know how reliable your point about USSR is true, but what I know is USSR supported Nigeria during the war. The supplied weapons and other ammunitions, France and some other countries supported Biafra(Biafra didn't use cassava sticks as claimed)! The Peace Accord was to settle the issues on ground, the Accord was to prevent the succession of Biafra through a peaceful method. Ojukwu went ahead to announce and the war started, so Biafra went against the Accord and broke it by calling for the succession! The amount of soldiers doesn't matter, but what really matters is that we've gotten over the war. Even there are some tribal bigots, it's not as serious as before. I know of a family in which the husband is an hausa and his wife is an Ibo. He married her only, there is mutual understanding btw them. We would have an Ibo President Insha'Allah after Buhari, the man qualified for it is Rochas Okorocha. He is our next and every Muslim, Christian, Ibo, hausa, Yoruba would support him. GMB my hero, FAYEMI my role model and Rochas our next Presido! Oya chop knuckle! |

ademusiwa5: Correct ojukwu wanted to die with his ppl but we igbos knew we can't afford to lose him n begged him to leave. Ojukwu is a great fighter n no coward, a hero Wat is d essence of a thread of this nature, to humiliate n bash igbos abi n possibility scare us frm askin for biafra again Op u r a tribal bigot, take down those pics asap or show hw d war affected nigerians too n nt only biafran nation D struggle for biafra will never end until we get it, d death of all these children will nt b in vain 1 Like |

Demmzy15: Lol, before I chop ur knuckle, lemme get somethings right. Roadchas can never be a chosen leader of the igbo nation cos his definitely gonna lose in the igbo nation plus PDP can go sleeping. Secondly, muritala mohammed was from Auchi in Edo state but they never knew. Immediately they found out, dey murdered him. I know my fact and it's so right. USSR came to support so that they could mine oil for 50 years but Ojukwu turned it down which Nigeria agreed to in a separate unknown deal. France dnt give us much support. D more support came from Haiti, SA and food from Rome. My own information is both from a biafran soldiers (my father) and uncles plus books. If u ppl keep tipping roadchas as Igbos president, then it could be the wrongest calculation cos his been hated from his home town to his region not cos his APC but cos he talks too much and talk like a toddler. APC needs to grow better politicians in the east not people who come down to insult his people to feel among. When the oba issue came up, roadchas actually supported the motion of we being thrown into the Lagoon. The game is on, I can play 1 Like |

Mrbigman1:Rochas would be our next Presido, the Ibos aren't the deciding factors during elections in Nigeria, If the North and West with him getting a substantial votes in South East, he would win. So Ibos vote are not really needed. Secondly, all documents talking about the life of Murtala Muhammad states that he's from Kano State and that's what everyone know. You claimed he's from Edo State without bringing any credible proofs, just mere speculations. He married a Yoruba. Encyclopedia, Wikipedia and others claimed is from Kano. So I don't think I can accept your view about Murtala. He's a northerner who was part of the officers that lead a counter coup. France, Czech Republic, Rhodesia, Spain, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Portugal, etc all supported the biafrian army. You claimed USSR came for a deal with Ojukwu, but he refused. So they switched to help Nigeria(!? )this has no proofs whatsoever. If I take it for the sake of argument that what you claimed really happened, then how come Russia isn't drilling Nigeria's oil after she won the war?! There is saying which goes as "if ordinary talks or gist are made, it'll only be taken as evidence by fools". Show me tangible proofs, not what you were gisted, shame the devil. My knowledge about the civil war comes from credible books, first hand experiences and books written by top ranking officers. I don't get info from beer parlour or other idle places. No reasonable person would take the Oba seriously, when he made the speech many people were laughing. Note:I'm not defending him, Pat Utomi said the Oba was joking. I seriously don't know why you guys can't just forget this issue. Many other tribes have made worst comments about the Ibos, even your beloved Ijaw have done worse to you. But you chose to keep malice with Yorubas who have helped you guys in great deal! Many countries have fought wars, France and England fought a war for 100years, but they're best friends today. Germany had many enemies in the past but they're friends with everyone. The Nigerian civil war was fought to keep Nigeria as one, but some ibos have taken advantage of it to create more tribal tensions. The worst thing is that when the war breaks out, it's the innocent civilians that suffer. People like me and you would be the victims! Let's stop this bro, it won't benefit anyone. Let's join hands to stop tribal and religious bigotry! |
