It smells terribly like a scam already. In fact saying u won't do visa interview confirms its a scam. Even when u want to convert ur visa to resident permit in Germany u will still do a mini interview on ur source of finance wia u present ur documents. My guy b wise, its a scam scam. D company no get name ni, with d high no of unemployed German speakers in Germany y will a company come to Nigeria to recruit Sumone who might not even speak d language.

My guy shine ur eye, if its not a scam tell ur friend to go ist and prove it
Huh?

The MOD should please delete this post as it's related to illegal immigration, call me mr 2 know but those already in knows the consequences attached to all this kind of funny arrangement.
Secondly, this post isn't related to educational purpose in Germany,so it should get the boot in my humble opinion, slowly this thread is heading south and the MOD are not noticing this trend yet.

Cheers

Firstly, it does sound illegal but that doesn't mean the poster himself was aware. He wasn't sure so he asked. I don't see any reason why it should be deleted. There is nothing wrong with it IMHO.

Secondly, this thread isn't only related to educational purposes in Germany. If you notice - the thread topic is General German Visa Enquiries, not German Study Visa Enquiries which means that anyone who is planning to visit Germany on any grounds can post in it (includes but not limited to work, study, tourist and even marriage visas).

Why do you think the thread is heading south, because you find a genuine post that isn't related to education on a travel thread ?

Hello Bro. please when you applied to Gottingen did the school send you an acknowledgement for receipt of application? I have been waiting for one, sent emails, even called but its going to voicemail in German language. I paid the evaulation fees through an account of a German citizen.I am disturbed because my deadline is tomorrow. undecided Please what do you advice?

if u do it at Lagos, they send it for u.
if u do it at Abj, u send it urself.
Also note that u must use the current date at which u are going to either the consulate or embassy, when filling the place/date gap of the form

Except for any new development, @ Abuja, you send, but @Lagos, they send on your behalf for sure.
I don't know if Abuja have started sending on the customer's behalf now.

^^^^^^: already answered above…

Hey guys, thanks for all the advice you're giving on the page. It is very helpful.

I applied for a short term visa last week. About how long will it take for them to process the application. I saw two weeks somewhere but does anyone have any average times?

Also, should I write a letter/send an email to request that an original document be returned, or will they return them with my passport? I foolishly gave them my Company Certificate and now I'm kinda worried that they won't return it.

Why would they not return your document? Just state one reason why your mind is telling you that. its part of the side effects of the "waiting period", your mind will lead you to different weird and strange places. Be patient, When they actually notify you to either come for your visa or for the rejection thereof, all your personal documents apart from the photocopies and visa application forms will be returned to you at the point of collection.
For the average time, it varies. Just wait patiently for their mail.

Hello everyone, I just booked an appointment for May 21, 2015 for a short term visa at the German Embassy in Lagos. I am supposed to be in Germany for a business trip on June 1, 2015 so all things being equal I am supposed to fly on May 31, 2015. I have no idea how the procedure is on the day of interview. If I attend an interview on May 21 would a decision be made on the same day? If the decision is positive would I receive my travel documents to enable me to fly on May 31? Or should I cancel the appointment and choose an earlier date?

I tried looking for answers to these questions on the website of the German Embassy but I could not get answers. That is why I am asking the nairaland gurus here to help me with answers.

Thank you in anticipation of your help.

If you can cancel the appointment, please do. But the visa stamping shouldn't take long after the interview process... so if your Interview is on the 21st then you should have your passport in-hand before your date of departure.
Keep in mind, one thing an Embassy doesn't like is bug them with your travel ticket info. Asking them to speeden the process because you've booked your ticket - so please don't contact them asking them to act fast. In fact, the CHINA embassy cancels a Visa application immediately they receive such a complaint from an applicant.
Let's hear from those who've gone through the same process recently first before you decide whether or not to cancel your appointment.

All the best.

Bro..you cam definitely be admittee to a bsc program. However note that most sc courses are held in German and there are few english courses at this level except at private(very expensive) schools like Jacobs University. You may also need to attend a Studienkolleg. You can register at the Goethe Institute asap and also keep learning on your own very fast. I hope you achieve your dreams..I learnt how to speak B1 Arabic within 4 months of intensive study so you gan do the same with German. Goodluck

Lol, it has been a while since I did any visa stuff and I couldn't remember whether they (US/UK) returned the originals. Granted it was never anything this important I gave them. thanks for your reassuring words.

so they'll send a mail to notify us? we had to buy a courier envelope so I just assumed they'd send it. really, thanks for all your help. i'll be looking out for the email then.

Cancel the appointment with immediate effect and an earlier date that will have two weeks gap from the date of the interview otherwise you regret the outcome of your interview.
