megainvest: ranked? for which financial year or quarter? My brother fundamentals change continuously, in fact, with each quarter. With experience you will also add 'believability' of the so-called fundamentals. Our ogas also told of various terms for example, 'value-trap' readily comes to mind 2 Likes |

Born2berich: Bros, I am not holding forth for anybody or any govt. However, Nigerians need to understand that engineering projects don't take days to deliver. There is 1. installed capacity, 2. current output (which is what is being generated), 3. actual consumption. You build power plants to increase the first. You need enough gas(for gas-fired plants), enough water(for hydroelectric plants), etc and highly efficient plants to convert as much installed capacity as possible to generated power. Finally, you need efficient transmission and distribution infrastructure to deliver as much generated power as possible to the consumers. At every stage, you need heavy investments and one of the best things this govt has done, I think, is the privatisation of the power sector because govt alone cannot foot the bill. And make no mistake about it, if you see improvements in power within at least 6 months of GMB's tenure, its likely due to actions of the current govt. 2 Likes |

enaijize: Few facts on the fuel scarcity:- 1. Fall in crude oil price has endangered Nigeria's budget(of which 70% goes to recurrent expenditure, mainly salaries of an overbloated, ineffective govt workforce which any reasonable attempt to prune will draw the ire of organized labour). Sometimes labour comes across to me as some uneducated bunch of selfish individuals who claim to represent the workforce(who really have no credible alternative). 2. The meager approved budget for fuel subsidy cannot now cater for the "allegedly" corruption-ridden fuel subsidy regime(which by the way mainly benefit the well to do and rich). 3. Nigerians can now either see reason and let the subsidy be discontinued or follow the bidding of few cunning politicians, start protesting and crumble what is left of the shaky govt. Note:- the opposition is not likely to oppose a removal of subsidy now because unlike in January 2012, they know they will inherit this cankerworm in less than a month. |

Manonamission:Very well said Sir. NPF have 9k eps unaudited from Q1, while the 21k is the audited eps for the entire 2014 FY. Its a case of comparing apples and oranges. 2013 Q1 was 7k, 2014 Q1 was 8k while this year is 9k. Seemples . |
