stagger: So who pays for my 2 hours wasted due to their inefficiency in the December episode? Or you didn't see that one in my write up? Who pays for the 3 hours lost by the passengers yesterday? Or you didn't read the OP as well? How much is the charge on a foreign airline even for a 'no show'? 5 Likes |

IdiAmin1: Bros, I don't believe in violence in order to solve issues, this same thing played out at the MM2 Lagos. They cancelled flights that were scheduled to leave from Lagos to Abj without any statement to their passengers. We were stranded, without any provisions. Out of anger pple started destroying their property. Enof of this bullshi...t from our airline operators. Some pple were on transits, some came for a program, some left their kids at home with the hope that they will come back. They refused to refund or even lodge their passengers who were stranded. It was just too painful the way Aero contranctors treated their passengers. 2 Likes |

Since the day Aero moved my flight from 7am till about 9 at night and finally got cancelled without any explanation or apology and still expected me to come back the next day without any guarantee that I'll leave in the morning, I gave up on local flights in Nigeria. Except its an official trip, I'll rather peacefully go and enter my ABC transport and know I get to my destination at the estimated time than spend my whole day at the airport waiting for almighty aero/arik to decide when I'll leave. 1 Like |

IdiAmin1:As much as I do not condone violence, it is easy to denounce these passengers. Flights are postponed everywhere in the world but the ease with which our carriers postpone flights and the total lack of emphaty involved is disgusting. |

See what Buhari and APC has caused. Why did they chased Odua away? We didn't have such experience during Odua's time as the aviation minister. |

IdiAmin1: Have you ever been in a situation where you have timed business deal in Lagos and you need to be in lagos before 2hrs, only for you to book a flight and getting to the airport, the carrier cancelled the flight? You might never understand the anger and frustration because after waiting for hrs and you get disappointed when they could have cancelled earlier on time so that people will find their way. By that time 9PM, all night buses has left. In such a case, there is no better way to show your anger other than breaking every every. I was supposed to fly from abuja to owerri on same aero sometime ago, a flight booked for 9.30am was delayed to 5.00PM when they luckily flew us to owerri, maybe because people where ready to make trouble with them. Ever since that day, I haven't entered any aero flight again. Am now a dana airway advocate, maybe until they start messing up like aero and arik 4 Likes |

MaziOmenuko:Aero need some hot lesson about how to manage information. They know nothing about customer relations. I have experience a lots of bitter treatment from Aero both in Lagos and Abuja. I am in support of this action even though it is not the best way to register one grievance. 1 Like |

/ I don't take local flights in Nigeria. Anxiety in a 45 minutes flight makes it seem like 45hours. I boarded Sosoliso flight from Enugu to Lagos. By the time I got to LAX, I heard the same flight crashed the next day killing a lot of school children on board. That's when I drew the line. Never again! Nigerians have almost zero concept of time. There is no appointment that is worth the stress. Leave two days earlier, if you have to. Most of my trips revolve around FCT, Lagos, Enugu or SS areas. So I drive myself. Or in rare cases, I take the commuter buses. Young Shall Grow all the way or Ifesinachi buses equipped with functional a/c. And if the driver starts "forming" James Bond, I will caution him. It is as simple as that. \ 4 Likes |

mbulela: In other parts of the world, when a carrier postpones a flight, the carrier bears the responsibility of providing accommodation to the passenger's including transportation to and fro the hotel and feeding. But in Nigeria, the reverse is the case unless you threaten, break things before they will take you to one side and settle you quietly so that others won't hear and ask for same entitlement. At times, the only word most Nigerian Organisation's and businesses hear is violence 2 Likes |

In as much I don't support resolving through violence but I will not at the time accept ds unnecessary treatment from our air line operators who see passages as weak vessels who does not have a say. Enough of these nonesence. If the flight must be cancelled, passengers must be addressed in a polite way and feeding, accommodation & compasiation should be paid for the delay. #Time is money |

mystiqueDZ: I understand people's anger and frustration when it comes to addressing people especially when one is delayed. But those people they wanted to kill got nothing to do with it. The big shots are in their office or cubicle, dishing out orders to the lowest rank In the administration. They were just following orders from the top. They should understand how this work. If one is not satisfied with the way the customer service address them, they should demand to see the manager or supervisor. That's how it works. Violence does not solve problems |
Re: Serious Fighting Going On Now At Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport,Abuja(Pics by Emmahunk(m): 8:16am On May 03, 2015 |
Violence never solves a problem even when it must have been very frustrating to have a 6pm flight canceled at 9.05pm without a care in the world about the welfare of the passengers. Having said that, it's pertinent to also talk about the shabby treatment paying customers are given in this Countryby sservice providers generally not just Aero Contractors. Light and water bills that you never enjoyed are often given to you for payment. You at times wait for a government official for hours in his office without anyone giving you any explanation why he or she is not in the office In our public hospitals, lives have been lost because the doctor on call could not be reached. Honestly, it could be frustrating but rather than resorting to violence, I think it's high time we started suing some of these agencies like people do abroad. We should stop taking all in our stride and waive it away calling 'Nigeria way'. We just can't continue like this. |

InvertedHammer: It is obvious i have to break it down barney style for you to understand. When jungle justice is the norm of a society, it means no one, and i mean no one is safe. I wonder what your reaction would be if it were your brother's blood on the floor in that picture? Obviously, from your mindset, you would bring more hoodlums to arik the next day to vent your madness on whoever. Anyone hurt in your vengeful spree would bring his own and it goes on and on. In your own words you have said Nigeria is not a normal society, which is why Nigerians behave like animals, but does it make it right? Your psychological makeup is in line with the reason Nigeria is stagnant at the moment. Imagine fifty million people with the same mentality; there will never be progress. You must try to resist your base instincts. Your survival depends on it. And to think fifteen m.oron.s liked your original post. That is a decent number as regards nairaland. Nigerians are in trouble, and they don't even realize the extent to which they are. |
