adewale1990:You have to stick to your current date, if you cancel it. It means you have to pay another fee to be able to pick a new date |

Good morning my people am back again I got admitted to a school in California which mt resumption date is 13july, my problem now is that the school hasn't sent me mt I-20 and they are already telling me that my school fee is due by June 1. Is it advisable to pay the fee even when I haven't gotten visa? |

sammynwaGod: You won't get a visa until you pay the fees. Bt your post is confusing, it is not the school that issues a visa, you must apply for that when you get admission . |

sammynwaGod:Wait till you get ur I-20, probably it as already been sent but as not gotten to u. It might be sent through regular mail which take weeks or month b4 it arrive. It not advisable to pay ur fee without u getting ur Visa yet, even d embassy discourage that. But if u know ur faith is strong that u will surely get the Visa and u have enough money, u can go ahead and pay. But make sure u ask ur graduate coordinator of there refund policy incase. 1 Like |

sammynwaGod:Issuance of I-20 isn't a function of tuition payment. Encourage them to send you the I-20, apply for your visa on time, possibly before Ending of May. The outcome of you visa application should guide you on whether to go ahead with the tuition payment or not. I will implore you not to pay the tuition until you are able to secure your visa except the school will reimburse you if the visa does not click on time. The embassy does not even encourage school fee payment before applying for visa. |

sammynwaGod:Its better to stay away from schools that ask for school fee before issuing i20, even VO frown against it but if you are a genuine student and that's your only school of choice, you can go ahead with the payment to get your i20 1 Like |

i know three fam members who payment of fees and a loaded statement before visa played a vital role in the issuance of visa. You are gonna pay anyways i wonder why West Africans always wanna "pay later" . |

You have to try and write any of the exams. The fact still remain even if you got admitted on any of the schools that wave toefl and sat you are still required to proof to the Vo that you are a genue student going for study. quote author=curiobling post=33377684]i contacted wayne state university early this wk,after much emails conversations they sent me a link that exempted some countries from writing SAT or TOEFL and its a surprise Nigeria was not listed but liberia was among. i love the sch but now that i dont have toefl or sat and i thought nigeria can study in usa without test of english. i wish to continue my undagrad by transfering my credit pls how true is wayne state [/quote] |

curiobling:You may think that it is clever to find a school without English requirement. I will make a prediction It will be a lower qualiyu school. At your interview the visa officer will see this and question you very hard, such schools are often a reason for rejection. Even if you get to such a school any employer will know that it is poor quality and the qualfication puts you at the bottom of the pile for a jod. Much simpler to get English qualification first! 1 Like |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by Nobody: 8:06pm On May 03, 2015 |
curiobling:You sound confused without any intention for study. But if that is the case, there is nothing wrong in such decision. It would be wise to at least not make yourself look silly in there presence. Go and sit your butt down and read, write one standardized test, apply to a university and stand a better chance at the embassy, even if you get denied your chances of getting approved the next time would be high. Stop running around, US is still here and would still be there, likewise the embassy. 1 Like |
