So with the name Chibike Amaechi, you cant figure out who he is? The same Amaechi went campaiging in Aba where he told the crowd "I am an Igbo man, I can speak Igbo". Amaechi is an Ikwerre man and the Ikwere's are just Igbos who deny their Igbo heritage because of the politics of Oil and the civil war. 4 Likes |

internetpirate: My brother i am an Ikwerre son and am very proud of my Igbo origin. Our ancestors migrated from Benin but we have nothing in common or any similarities with the Benin Kingdom. I wonder when my people will simply accept the truth about our origin and identity. A true Kalabari son knows that he is Ijaw. A true Eleme son knows he is Ogoni but an Ikwere son bearing an Igbo name and speaks an Igbo dialect and even speaks and understand general Igbo language with rathe claim Benin origin than his Igbo origin. 10 Likes |

Amechi is ikwerre and treachery is in their DNA. During/after the Nigerian Civil War, the ikwerres confiscated Igbo properties in PH and Christianed it "abandoned properties". 2 Likes |

janus05: Hahahahaha...e pain you. The properries were actually abandoned i.e. The cowardly owners ran away and left them behind. Those of you Igbos looking for biafra should be ready for another round of abandonment. |

biafranking: Biafranking, you go skul small, atleast to understand that i never said Ikwerres took your houses. You abandoned your houses and fled, Ijaws connived with the Nigerian govt to sideline Ikwerres (because of similar names) and claimed your houses...houses built on Ikwerreland..sad Why didn't Igbos run with their houses on their heads..too bad. Its all in the past now, i suggest Igbos move on cos if you let biafran dream hang around a lil longer, you might have to abandon your houses a second time, you get my drift? |

HopeAtHand: I find it quite outrageous that some Igbos leave Ijaws out to falsely accuse Ikwerres who equally lost their ancestral lands in the "abandoned properties" saga. Amaechi is an Ikwerre man and his native names are purely Igbo. |

HopeAtHand: ^^^Are you in unbearable pain that some Ikwerre on here have woken up to the realisation that they were sold a dummy; that this whole issue of Ikwerre being Igbo or not is nothing more than diversionary tactics.....part of a wider plot of dividing the Greater Igbo nation and sowing seeds of division and mistrust among ethnic groups of the old Eastern Region; all done with a view to keeping this shithole of a country ONE!? I've been mindful of your anti-Igbo disposition and contributions on this website, and i don't need a seer to tell me you're not who you claim to be (well not entirely at any rate); that you must be APC; that you have a soft spot for Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba; that you love 'one Nigeria'; that you have no qualms with the status-quo in place; and finally, that you love Buhari as much as you hate Ndigbo! From which authority do you derive the boldness (if not arrogance) to demand that if Ikwerres admit to being Igbo they should relocate to Imo, Abia, etc!? You do realise Ikwerres own Port Harcourt!? 7 Likes |

Ojiofor: http://ututupeople..in/2014/01/the-comprehensive-histotry-of-ututu.html?m=1 The Comprehensive History Of Ututu People Ututu is a peaceful community located in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State of Nigeria. It shares a common boundry between Aro and Ihechiowa in Abia State. The geographical area known as Ututu described above is named after the founder of the Clan Mazi Otutu Ezema. The original patriarch was Atita Akpo a notable warrior of the Oba of Benin during the 15th century. Atita Akpo is said to have fled the Bini kingdom along with his followers. Oral history has it that they first tried to settle in Ogoni land of Indoni and Andoni. Having spent considerable length of time in both places, but eventually serious war erupted between the newcomers and their Ogoni landlords, as a result of which they left Ogoni land. How long the Atita group spent in Ogoni land before proceeding to Isieke Ibeku is still the subject of imminent research. |

HopeAtHand: Ikwerres lost more in the Abandoned property saga than Ndiigbo, you lots lost your lands permanently to the Ijaws, who claimed lands you sold to Ndiigbo. Because of abandoned property saga, the Ikwerres must now must share PH with Ijaws. Abandoned property is Ikwerre loss. Igbos had since bought New lands all over Nigeria. 2 Likes |

But i also knew an Ikwerre man who was a bicycle repairer before the war but became an owner of a popular construction company in R/S. |
