TheReborn: So what is your point? That the nsibidi writings on the grave stones in virginia, a place known to have at least 70% Igbos of all african tribes in the state, were written by the ejagham? Second, in your ease and quest to pull out 'websites', please pull out a link showing where ejaghams were recorded in slavery or ever sold out of biafra. Then we can start a new line of inquiry that ejagham slaves, not igbo slaves, wrote the nsibidi writings on those grave stones. Third, why will you turn your anger towards Igbos, instead of being thankful for spreading your writing system beyond nigeria - a feat the ejaghams themselves were unable to do? Are the writers of those websites attributing the nsibidi works on the gravestones to Igbo slaves Igbos themselves or american researchers? Weren't the white american researchers themselves the ones who did and published the research and findings, and posted it on the net, of which you are now knowing? Was the website writing done by Igbos? Why suddenly pointing fingers at Igbos for no just cause? You are pathetically slow. 13 Likes 1 Share |

ezeagu:You're a fuckîng fraud! This guy has no Igbo roots whatsoever. He only changed his name to identify with his African ancestry. You guys are just lucky he chose to identify with d Igbo's. See how you're now claiming him as your own. You people are a tribe of fraudstars honestly! Onuora married Adugo (née Phyllis Ranglin) in 1978, in preparation for which he had a name change, the name being chosen by his bride-to-be (who did not want to be identified as Mrs. Wong) with the help of an Afrikan Professor Umona. Their names were chosen from the Igbo language from the southeastern region of Nigeria. "Oku" means Fire / Light which burns oppression, while "Onuora" means voice of the people. His full name, Oku Nagba Ozala Onuora, translates as everlasting fire or light which burns oppression.[6] Together with Adugo, Onuora founded the "Prugresiv Aartis Muvmant".[1] 3 Likes |

tobtap: To the contrary. Only a people with a healthy view of themselves would acknowledge that they were slaves. Because their is no fear that their former status would detract from their current achievements. Indeed only a psychologically well adjusted people would engage seriously in an inquiry to their origins, rather than subscribe to grandiose superstitions which trace their descent from gods or bogus heroes. 6 Likes |

bigfrancis21: It is to a major extent but not totally as there are folks who sign up to learn the language who have no interest in Ifa.There are many Black Caribbean folks who show interest in Africa economically and from there they decide which country.Mostly Ghana is chosen and Nigeria. Also I never said that those who are interested in Yoruba culture are ancestrally Yorubas. The Caribbean is literally a melting a pot...we have too many different races though we are majority African.Even amongst the Africans our stock is not merely Igbo or Yoruba but from a wide array of different African Ethnic Groups. 1 Like |

What those cultural posts show is what every serious people should endeavour to know. History is a vital tool for the wise. How on earth the moderator moved a useless topic like this, without a link or any form of documentary evidence, to the front page beats me. It means I can wake up tomorrow and open a thread about Obama being a Nigerian and it'll hit the front page? Seun needs to do something about this. We have idiots as moderators on Nairaland. 1 Like |

Ndigbo is probably the biggest and most vast nation on earth. I was shocked but not surprised to know there is a large indegenious Igbo community in Surinam, a South American country. Their Igbo language and accent is a bit different but understandable to a typical Igbo person. 2 Likes |
