Go to amichi and nnewi and see buildings you can only see in abuja . Igbos get money ooooo.Even as an igbo gurl, I shudder when I visit other igbo villages. I would be like shocked shocked shocked, when I see American specs houses!

Is Ekiti the subject of discussion? You see why you people fail JAMB. Yorubaland Lagos is the topic, stick to that. I have NEVER claimed Lagos, but as a yoruba woman, I will fight for any PART of Yorubaland.
Hahaha. You so funny. I ask again, why do you not ever reference ekiti in your yorubaland arguements?
Get this, yoruba defender, you don't get to own a house in Lagos by claiming yoruba. Ain't that happening, no waytongue

i served in Abia State and enjoyed myself thoroughly through my stay. Had my share of romances, adventures and all you can think of. I
didn't even feel I was anywhere but home. I'm still friends with many of those I met there to date. Kini big deal?

An Ibo guy who has spent all his life in South west is here denying his ancestral land by claiming to be a Yoruba man.

I wouldn't have disputed your submisdion if you had claimed that the Anambra you are talking about is in Ghana or Gambia.

I have been to Anambra, Abia and of course Enugu. Those places are nothing but glorified towns; the only exception is Enugu which look more contemporary than d rest. However, comparing Enugu and Anambra to any state in south west except Ekiti state is an insult to all modern and cosmopolitan cities around the world. Structurally, Honkg Kong is a beautiful country compare to old looking Britain but in the comity of nations around the world, Britain is far above d league of Hong kong(administrative ties with China though, permit me to state that cos I don't need lecture about that)

The rest of that region is nothing but shallow land filled up with 98% ibos. There's nothing cosmopolitan about the entire region and the reason why other Nigerians don't go there hit me instantly.

Apparently, someone lets your collar loose long enough to see my Yoruba post, but pull your collar when I mention Ekiti.

Since Anambra looks like Lagos, then why prefer to live in Yorubaland than in Igboland? Just asking.

Very hospitable people, but they hardly trust other tribes, except they've known u for a long time
Like every ethnic groups, trust is always an issue but as Corp members, our interests were protected. We were treated with respect and honour. They were simply happy that we were posted to serve them and they reciprocated the gesture.

Another thing was the burial issue. They celebrate burial for like five days and there would be plenty to eat and drink. Drinking was trendy as it was like drinking water.

Simply put, it was fun all through.

Ok let me tell you a little about my visit to osuh ,nnewi LGA.My dad actually named me after his close ibo friend, Uchenna. D man almost gave his life for dad. Ibos r loyal tho.

D man's wife died N we had to travel to his place. I was amazed! Trust me, no village in any region of naija matches Igbo villages. I saw beautiful mansions that can b likened to those in abuja. They tar their roads themselves, never waiting on govt. Village roads o! I realised d owners of Bolton white, top rank, onyx hotels , prince n princess estate,r from that small village. I saw d house of d owner of efab N my tongue almost fell out, d ukahchukus hv their houses inside 1 compound, about 6 beautiful mansions.

Believe me, I didn't see 1 thatched house in dat village, don't know about other ibo villages. Some compounds have expensive cars parked inside, nobody driving them. Ibos gat money mehn!
Holding my family friend so close cos he has so much vision N biz ideas. He's always got ideas.
I respect Ibos so much.they hv d heart to make money N live well
Chinedu Nwannem!!Good to hear such honest reposte from you my brother! It is also refreshing to know ur dad had such a fulfilling connection with his Igbo friend and u also attested to the substance and positive values it established in your life and impression gathered therefrom. Am sure the town u visited was Osumenyi in Nnewi south and truly the few edifices and personalities you mentioned were merely a triffle of the titans and mohicans birthed in the enclave. Interestingly, there are more than a hundred other communities in Igbo land with such awe inspiring stories of splendour and substance.Only travelling avails you of such rare privilege to see them. While I am a proud igbo man to the core,I also have Yoruba's and friends of other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria I will not trade for anything as our friendhip spanned beyond our illusive differences. Ultimately,we are answerable to same God and realities. One love +may God bless all men of goodwill!

Apart from Lagos which I won't deny is more developed than the east but that doesn't include the ghettos, no part of your south west can compete with the east!
Stop hating!

this load of crap proves that you've never been to the east, which SW state are you talking about abeg? ekiti? ogun? abi na osun? wait na Ibadan you dey use dey make mouth? Oga let's face it apart from Lagos, most of the other SW states are nothing compared to ordinary ABA or even small umuahia. Yes the government in abia state is almost none existence, but the some of the places there is far more advanced than most SW states. everyone is just hailing SW because of one state Which is Lagos. majority of the region is under developed!!

Nice one man. Now you can attest to the fact that traveling is a form of education which can quickly kill ones ignorance. I love listening to honest Yorubas who willingly travel to other part of the country to live or associate with people there. Many times they sound different from those who think Lagos is the only place in Nigeria.

l know some yorubas in owerri and portharcourt living in their own developed plots doing well, even few of them married Igbo ladies, well settled, some are my clients, that's how I got to know, some are displaying Igbo features this days.

That's quite ironic. Yorubas travel to igboland, return back to invest in Yorubaland.

Igbos travel to Yorubaland, never returns home. Their new generation of Igbos in Yorubaland speaks Yoruba, don't understand igbo.

I don't know why I have this feeling that the op is actually Igbo! I think you deserve a plate of Isi ewu for your efforts but I must tell you this fact-Yoruba are not in any superiority contest with Igbo. Healthy competition is actually good but when a conscious effort is made to promote one culture as superior to another,it will only breed more hatred. I honestly don't have to embark on a journey to Anambra or Abia before I can appreciate or love Igbo people. Not until we begin to show genuine love for one another and see ourselves as one people, the Op's story changes nothing!

let me be honest with you, today if Igbos want to pack their Gh-must-go bags, no one will stop them if the Ijaws want to stay in Nigeria. If we let igbos go, so will the Ijaws and their oil grin Not really a secret. Igbos are non-consequential.

see what happens when that oil dries up. wink Our politicians, the ones that benefit from ND oil, make the decisions on who to let go. The common citizens don't.

Igbos are non-consequential Did l hear you say that? Ummm... Yes we have oil, but I've never seen Igbo man proud in Oil. Rather we take joy in hard work and healthy competitions. If oil depletes, how will the government generate tax if her citizenry isn't competitive? We need each other to survive.
