it's been said that those going to Colleges are usually denied... well I doubt it... if you are going for Graduate studies... it's often a good one...

it's been said that most times people in their first time are usually denied... well I doubt...

All these applies to myself...

Sorry about the delay. A few observations; about three lines of response indicated desperation-
1. How many schools did you apply to? You shld have mentioned the figures and not list, except you were asked to do so, because in some cases, names of school we list can be another impediment, although, this happens seldomly.
2. Did you write any Standardized test? You shld have said just Yes and then state the kind of test and not to tender the report until you are asked to do so.
Rebrand yourself and refire, that small paper is yours.
All the best!

Thank you, Innovativeme. I only submitted my Gre and Toefl score sheets when she asked me to. But for the number of schools, I think I just went ahead to call the names of schools. I even faltered when I was calling the names of the school. Then I have to call it again. Thanks, man! I guessed having premeditated answers immediately I'm being asked some questions without hesitating made me look desperate.

A happy vo would have issued you a visa.
This one needed convincing.
The transcript isn't half bad, heck someone had more red flags than a bull fight stadium yesterday and still got the visa.

In my opinion, your transcript doesn't exude confidence and it seems you were scared.
Also, your ds 160 work experience section should match what you said.
Your current job of answering customer inquiries doesn't match your msc area of research ( very unfair but that's the way it works sometimes )

Just try and reapply. Work on your confidence, and pray you meet a nicer VO

If you are a Nigerian abroad and you get an award, won a scholarship or did something good, Nigerians will say oh, he is our child, we are proud of him or her, in fact they will pray for more success for the person but if you commit crime or they arrest you for drugs, Nigerians will abuse you and your entire tribe. When you ask them why they are not calling that one their child as well, they will tell you, let everybody bear hin papa name o... . What am I saying in essence? Wherever we are and whatever we are doing, we must always strive to succeed legally and we must never do things that will soil our dignity. If you are also into crime and you are lucky not to have been caught, you still have the chance to start afresh, if you want to commit crime, think twice. Success has many friends and if we are all hardworking and persevering enough, the world will celebrate us too one day. My salute to all Nigerians at home and abroad doing clean hustle, may we reap the sweet fruits of our labour

True to the latter... true hustle pays more than crime and drugs...
God will always and surely bless true hustlers!!!

Why not talk about peace and conflict resolution as an area you are interested and only two schools in US offers that area of specialization
You need to talk intelligently, stop muddling things up. Post your pre interview response here and CC me, I will help you edit it and give a better response.

First time your statement ever made sense to me.

But the CONSISTENCY in your story line and the CONFIDENCE that went with it.

. . . when you get here dont just throw those visa inteview "qualities" away, maximize them and you sure will do better than some distracted lot.

I know. But we have to listen to gurus in the house and see all the corrections they have to make as regards to our visa interview transcripts then we re-fire. I plan applying still on this May. Hopefully ending of May.

Darklight my man..I go with innovativeme's suggestion...work on your confidence and be calm when answering those questions as if you are hearing them for the first..Is late though you shd have lied abt your place of work since you are not submitting your personal SOA..you could have convinced him a little..if you have little savings in your account for the next interview...take it along and let the VO knows your dad is a major sponsor and that you will provide stipend since you have been working before now.
