Within the next 18 months Denel will have a clear idea of whether it will restart Rooivalk production as it talks to possible partner nations/clients and engages with the Department of Defence. Both the South African and foreign militaries have expressed interest in restarting production.

Riaz Saloojee, Denel Group CEO pointed out to defenceWeb that defence minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is on record saying that the Rooivalk needs to be re-established as a strategic sovereign capability for use in places like the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Saloojee told defenceWeb that Denel is establishing a roadmap for the Rooivalk which will include an upgrade of the current Rooivalk Mk 1 baseline that will form the building blocks to a Rooivalk Mk 2 variant which would be a new capability Rooivalk for both the SAAF and potential export market. This involves examining the feasibility of restarting production, looking at technology improvements and finding partners. He said that is will be “essential” to find an international partner and that Denel is in discussion with a number of countries in this regard.

No military in this world ever buys all they need. America buys withing available defence budget. You think USAF just walk into factory and grab manufactured weapons walk away back to military base like it's hamburgers?

...speculate all you want, F-16 and F-15 remains in service with USA till year 2025. Nobody is buying 3,000 F-35 stealth jets in the next decade.
They'll be phased as the F-35 is introduced.

The F-35 won't be used by the air force only.

Nigeria borrows money to pay government salaries

Africa's biggest economy faces "revenue challenges" that have affected expenditure, finance minister says.

Eighty percent of the Nigerian government revenue come from oil exports [Reuters]
Africa's richest economy is borrowing money to pay salaries as it struggles through a "difficult cash crunch" brought on by halved oil prices, Nigeria's finance minister revealed.
The news comes as Nigeria prepares to welcome a new government at the end of this month and the country's naira currency remains in a slump, hovering between 180 and 220 to the US dollar. It was trading at 160 a few months ago.
Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala tried to be upbeat in a speech on Tuesday after lawmakers approved the 2015 budget - revised three times because of slashed oil prices that provide 80 percent of revenue for the government of Africa's biggest petroleum producer.
She said "revenue challenges" had prohibited the release of any funds for capital expenditure this year but that food prices and single-digit inflation remained quite stable. And she said the economy still was on course to grow 4.8 percent this year.
"We have front-loaded the borrowing program to manage the cash crunch," Okonjo-Iweala told lawmakers.
"Out of the 882 billon naira budgetary provision for borrowing, the government has borrowed 473 billion naira to meet up with recurrent expenditure, including salaries and overheads."
That is bad news for the incoming government of President-elect Muhammadu Buhari, who takes over on May 29 from incumbent Goodluck Jonathan.
Buhari acknowledges that constricted revenue and endemic corruption threaten his will to deliver on development and reconstruction of areas devastated by a nearly 6-year-old rebel uprising in the northeast.
He says his fight against corruption should produce the money needed to bring change to a country where oil proceeds benefit a small clique while the majority of the 170 million people in Africa's most populous nation live hand to mouth.
Critics blame the financial crisis in part on the most expensive election ever held in Nigeria, though no one knows how much politicians from both sides spent during their campaigns.

The T-34 is rated higher than the Tiger tank because of it's at the time, innovative Slat armour, mobility and speed of production. 1300 T-34 tanks were built per-month at the height of world war 2.

The T-14 brings Armour, firepower, mobility and Afganit active protection.

That's the basic standard for measuring tanks. All of them have those. The only difference is the T-14 is faster than any Tank in service today, has better Armour than any Tank in service today, has better protection than any Tank in service today, has better firepower than any.

Type 99 is just as fast

So thats a lie

You dont know what armor it has. And judging by the fact that it is significantly lighter than anything else i doubt it has very much in the way of armor.

So thats a lie

Merk has a battle tested system that has been operationally in use for longer. You dont even know the stats for the active protection on the T-14

So thats another lie.

Again, how is it the best?

All we have here is a lightweight tank that is fast with an autoloader from the 1980's with an untested gun and untested active defence.

Its a neat all rounder, but thats it - jack of all trades, master of none.

Your statement is based on incomplete facts and thus can only be ascribed to balatant bias

The tank’s main armament is the 2A82 125-mm smoothbore cannon, capable of firing high-powered munitions, including armor-piercing discarding sabot, guided missile, shaped-charge, and other types of munitions. The T-14 is equipped with the Chelyabinsk A-85-3A X-diesel engine capable of producing up to 1500 hp. It also has a tank information control system (TICS) that monitors all assemblies and components, diagnoses malfunctions, and controls onboard systems.

the active defense system deserves special attention. It is an individual anti-missile and anti-projectile tank defense system, supposedly capable of intercepting any type of anti-tank ammunition.

“It defends the vehicle from strikes, including those from the air. Thus, even the most modern Apache helicopter will not have a 100 percent chance of destroying a T-14 with its missiles. Active defense is situated along the entire perimeter of the turret at various levels, which ensures complete protection of the tank’s most important elements,” according to the FSMO report.

Fifth-generation fighters are already flying, but only second-generation tanks are in the inventories throughout the entire world. So the Armata will become the first series-produced third-generation tank

The T-14 is the world's only 3rd generation Tank.

The F-22 is an untested fighter, yet you refer to it as the world's best Air-superiority fighter.

Now, this is one of your most r3tarded comments yet, and you have many. You refer to the Rafale as the world's best JSF ahead of Fifth generation F-35's despite it been a virtually untested expensive fighter.

Because we all know the capabilities of the F35, F22 and Rafael

We dont know the capabilities of the T-14

And the person who wrote this source of yours clearly knows nothing about MBTs - as there are currently 20 or so Third Generation tank designs as well as a further 10 or so 3+ Generation MBT's

T-14 is simply a 3+ Gen MBT - same as the Leo2A7, Type 99, Merk 4, K2 and Type 10.

T-14
The new tank will weigh 48 tons and could hit speeds of more than 50 miles per hour, according to a spec sheet released by Russia's TASS news agency and translated by the U.S. Army's Foreign Military Studies Office. The three-person tank will be able to fire up to 12 rounds per minute from a 125 mm main gun that can fire multiple types of munitions, including guided missiles, with a range topping out at 8,000 meters.
High-tech highlights include circular-view cameras, a heat sensor and the Afganit active protection complex, which reportedly uses radar to detect incoming threats and destroys them with a rocket.
Abrams variants weigh in between 65 and 70 tons, according to General Dynamics Land Systems spec sheets, with a top speed of just more than 40 mph.

Nope, the users of Russian weapons were armed with older generations and used them against the latest generations of American weapons.

Iraqi T-72 tanks defeated British Chieftain tanks in 1980s, but by 1990s the T-72 became onsolete with RHA armour and was defeated by mordern American Abrams tanks with composite armour.

Russian MiG-23 jets defeated French Mirage jets in Angolan bush war.

Also Russian T-62 tanks defeated British Centurion/Olifant tanks in Angola.
