This is why the Quran says when Rumour mongers (Idiots) comes to you with any news, check it out, seek out the truth before you react, lest they push you to regrets later. If this had been in some other countries, the bloggers will be taken to task on these misinformation, made to appologise openly, and sanctioned for this type of rubish bloggs. |

odave, in the old days, we gathered as kids on moonlit nights to listen to stories told by elders (or just older folks). Stories that always ended up with pearls of wisdom such as has stood us in good stead in life. Respect for others is one important message we seem to have lost these days where people form their values from things that only provide ephemeral satisfaction. The urge to form "ethnic big cahuna" and lash out willy nilly on a website is one such stupidity they would have "taled-by-moonlight" out of us in those formative years. I don't know how old you are but you remind me of those who conjured up and told those stories in soft tones, but with strong messages. I only hope the 'kids' here are listening. odave: |

...meaning that those who latched onto the statements in support of the derogatory statements will be called what now? How can some one say this... yibobasher2: And another one....... Abugab: So when people people have these opinions based on a misquote or a false message, then where does that leave them... be honest. These are tribalistic rants which seem to be recurring in Nairaland as they hide their identities from the public and shame their orijins*** |

Chiaka: lindaikeji's site is no better than nairaland. There is just as much nonsense on her blog as there is here - much of silly stories that she has on her site wind up on nairaland, such as the poorly researched claims about Soyinka. |

mmsen: Linda's is a lot more constructive though in my opinion and not tribal driven unlike nairaland the story on Soyinka it has is this real one Soyinka denies blasting the Igbos, says whoever believes he did is a slowpoke not the one trying to insight tribal hate. |

BushidoBlue: I'm really less concerned if prof actually said that or not. They fact still remain that the Yeebos have no unity among themselves, they are the only tribe wishing downfall for Nigeria despite living peacefully and making money in the country. History has shown that the Yeebos vote on their stomach has rightly said by who wrote the speech. If not, how would you explain the gburugburu himself Odimegwu Ojukwu losing presidential election in 2003 in eastern nigeria. He did not even win one state from eastern nigeria under an igbo party APGA. Who can the ibos trust if they can't trust this man. It may sound tribalistic, but the fact still remains that the ibos must learn how to co-exist peacefully with other tribes for them to be given due respect |

jabolo: Well said sir. I was born in early '80s, I started using internet in the year 2003 but I must confess internet users of today are more bitter and filed with venom. Should there be an avenue to take up arms against one another, many would gladly do it. But I believe NL should not be championing hate. They should delete controversial threads and promote love. I can't remember the last time we collectively condemn BH instead its usual abuse one politician or the other. I'm not a saint but I believe there should be mods who knows what they are doing. NL should not be the tool of discord in nigeria I'v gained a lot on NL, I joined in 2007 but nowadays opposite is d case, its either someone is trying to dupe or scam you or curses and abuse allover d threads. God help us all 1 Like |
