I noticed that there is little or nothing on this topic. i just want this to gain some traction as I know myself and a few other people are interested. 1andonly:a nairalander once asked about the minimum balance for the statement of account... Do u have any idea? |
Re: Spanish Student Visas by 1andonly: 1:26pm On Apr 17, 2015 |
tdayof: Depends on the degree he is pursuing. For me I am looking at a Masters and the minimum balance is about N2.5 Million according to my school. Worked that out from $1,000 per month. |

Do you know if there is a special hospital that the embassy prefers? I need to do my medicals. I contacted them but they are yet to respond. |
Re: Spanish Student Visas by 1andonly: 2:26pm On Apr 20, 2015 |
Well, I think to answer my question above, any General Hospital in Nigeria would suffice. This is what I did specifically used the general hospital at Marina and parted ways with N7,500 should have bargained to get better value in retrospect. Hope this helps someone. I would just make updates here so that people like me in the future won't be clutching at straws for info. regards, 1 Like |

For police report, just head for Force CID at Alagbon in Ikoyi Lagos. Did mine in less than 30 mins but had to part ways with N10,500.00. Feel I was cheated as I didn't negotiate properly and tipped 1k. In fact he positively refused to collect it without 2k tip. In retrospect I think it was a ruse to make me think it was the actual price. I also think the N500 topped on it served the same purpose. If I should go back to process it again, I'd bid him for 5k. Problem is that I don't think there is any official price for this document which leaves room for all this crap. 1 Like |

1andonly: I am looking to attend EU Business School for an undergraduate program, I don't know how much they need. And the requirements seem strenuous at best. How did you sort it all out? |
Re: Spanish Student Visas by 1andonly: 2:13pm On Apr 21, 2015 |
muztapha: Finally, I caught someone's attention. Phew!!! Well, I am applying for a Masters so I don't really know much about an undergraduate degree; but at first blush I would be inclined to say it's standard across board. That is $1,000.00 per month with school fees already paid. What I am struggling with is requirement 8. I think that requirement is unnecessary after asking for $1,000.00. My thinking is that accommodation is included in $1,000.00 per month. I can help you out if you have further issues because it seems I am a touch ahead of you with the processing. That's not to say I don't have my own challenges which I reckon are a bit overwhelming for me. Cheers!!! 6 Likes |

For insurance you can use AIICO. Parted ways with N34,700. The actual price for a year is 30,800 but I had to factor in a like 5 days before and after the duration of the academic session. Dunno if I was right in this but what can I do when I could not get info from anyone. 2 Likes |

Re: Spanish Student Visas by 1andonly: 6:59am On Apr 22, 2015 |
muztapha: Quite ambiguous but I'd try. I'm done with undergraduate studies. I'm working class. I'm enrolling into Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. 3 Likes |

1andonly: Hello, thanks for starting this thread, quite insightful. I recently won an Erasmus Masters scholarship and my first mobility country is Spain. Waiting for my school to send the necessary documents. So I will be visiting the Spanish Embassy soon. Also I would be going to Barcelona! Regards. 2 Likes 1 Share |

1andonly: That's good to know! I had made a post earlier, only to discover that its been deleted. Well, I believe the moderators are doing their job, it's all good! I want to ask, the translating issues you raised , is it applicable to all Spanish Visa categories? I got an info that I will be issued a schegen visa... Looking forward to see us study at the same institution! Cheers. |
Re: Spanish Student Visas by 1andonly: 11:35pm On Apr 25, 2015 |
Seunbunmi: I replied. I reckon the mod deleted mine too. Possibly because you included your email or so. Dunno. So I think translation should be for long stay. VFS processes short stays. Yes you'd be issued a schengen visa. |

So I sent my documents to my friend in Abuja to help me authenticate which he did, cool buddy, gave him 20k which was about what he spent less transport and all. He said he spent 6k at the ministry of education. Probably spent 3k for WAEC scratch card and the rest to stamp my transcript and Bsc certificate. Said he spent 1,500 per document at Ministry of foreign affairs. I sent him 9 documents. Putting things in perspective, my school abi potential school asked me to legalize Bsc and transcript. Of course you have to authenticate before legalizing. Note: The Spanish embassy specifically asks to put the seal on all originals save WAEC and Bsc. Hope this helps someone. 1 Like |

1andonly: Wonder why he needed the Foreign Affairs Ministry to authenticate anything. Can you apply for a visa in Abuja? I'm in Abuja, instead of needing to fly down to Lagos - would be easier. |
Re: Spanish Student Visas by 1andonly: 8:05pm On May 13, 2015 |
muztapha: He needed to help me with the authentication because it is one of the requisites before visa application. Yes I reckon you can apply for visa from Abuja. Are you still interested with the visa thingy? I daresay you should start applying on time because the process is very long. 1 Like |

WAEC verification. For me it seems the whole thing is unending. I had to go WAEC office at Yaba. Opposite the gate you would see a woman that can do the affidavit thingy for you. I did not use her anyhow. Mine was a bit complex but the price she will charge is N1,500. You need to go with two envelops. The whole affair should cost you no more than N15,000. Break down is N1,500 for affidavit, N10,000 for the verification proper and varying sums for posting. I was posting to Lagos so I used UPS for N450. This whole visa application is very involved if you ask me. I really don't understand and I am now wondering if Spain is heaven or something. This is probably why very few people are interested in going to Spain. It is also very expensive (relatively though on account of what I consider expensive being only a paltry sum for Dangote). PS: NEVER USE AN AGENT!!! |
