Dear VO, I am quite very worried. I checked the CEAC's website (https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx) for the status of my case number (LGS2014642007) and corresponding invoice ID (36562805) and got the message, "Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error. " I do not know what this means, and would like to believe that the case is complete and it has been forward to the US Consulate Office in Lagos. If so, I do not know why we have not heard anything back since the past weeks this message has been displayed on CEAC's website? Is it that I got the case number wrong? Was the package sent off to my wife's address in Nigeria and for some reason, she did not receive it? I checked the USCIS website, and it shows that our I130 with receipt number, WAC1490197846 has been approved since April 2014. I had also submitted a K3 visa application for my wife with receipt number, WAC1590253420. Whenever I check the status I get the message, "Validation Error(s) You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding: At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information." I have been calling consistently but nobody seems to have an answer for me. I really need your help dear VO. Thank you so very much. trevor443: |

Man27: As with cases undergoing administrative processing, I can't comment specifically on cases in which a beneficiary has been contacted to return for a follow-up interview. The purpose of this thread is not to let applicants know whether or not they should be worried about things that haven't happened yet in their individual cases; rather, the purpose is to explain visa policies and procedures to a wide audience. |

Hopeful1987: We just nearly doubled our number of available appointments in June and even added a full appointment schedule on a Saturday -- so it's very possible! 1 Like |

njioma: There's no priority-date-based waiting time for CR1s or IR1s. As soon as the petition is approved and the case is documentarily complete, NVC will schedule it for the next available appointment. So it shouldn't be long now! |

trevor443: I see your case in the system but I can't see anything wrong with it. Please keep trying to contact the NSCS -- or send an e-mail to USCIS. Their contact information is available at www.uscis.gov . 1 Like |

tonyphil: Hurray! Please do bring all original documents as well as photocopies of those documents. We'll return the originals to you at the time of the interview. It's a good idea to bring relationship evidence showing that you've stayed in the relationship since your last interview with us. Good luck! 1 Like |

stevewale: Update! The visa's on its way to the collection center today. My sincere apologies for the delay -- when I checked yesterday I could see that it had been approved, but not that it had been printed -- so I sent everyone looking to see what the problem was. But the visa had been printed; the system just hadn't updated for some reason. So I'm very glad you asked me to check. It should be available for pickup tomorrow but I'd give the collection center until Monday to give them time to unpack our delivery. 1 Like |

VisaOfficer: Wow ... What a great news to start a day with .... I sincerely thank and appreciate you for your good work. Honestly, I'd say you are a God-sent to this country via US Consulate to help people out from all 'ungodly' agents who are in business of deceiving and defrauding people... What else can we say, but to thank you and pray that the good Lord will continue to bless you and your home for this selfless service. You're the best! 6 Likes |

Good morning VO. I posted a questtion on the US non immigrant thread a while back but havnt gotten a respone. Please I'll wish to repeat the question here. I recently discovered when I went to Immigration for my passport and FRSC for my license that my fingerprints could not captured electronically. Though I was issued the passport n license inspite of that, please I wish to know if it will be a problem for me when applying for a visit visa. Thank you. |

VisaOfficer: Hopeful1987: VisaOfficer: I dont think the issue is from the embassy. Seems NVC have a backlog of case complete with no interview. They are taking up to 1month plus to schedule interview for Nigeria now. I have an IR1 case completed on 10th of April and no interview date yet. If i called NVC, normal reply is that there is no slot available for Nigeria and the reason interview was not schedule. (i know this is not true) |
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 2:07pm On May 07, 2015 |
jaidopor: Well, it's technically true, for a few days each month, anyway. Here's how our conversation about scheduling goes: 1. Two or more months ahead of time, NVC contacts me and requests our schedule for (to give an example) June. 2. I reply with a schedule that is deliberately light -- for instance, I'll say that we can only see 80 cases per day. (That would be a very very easy day.) That gives me flexibility in case an officer suddenly needs to take some leave without a lot of notice, etc. 3. A month later, NVC contacts me and says "Our first round of scheduling is completed per your instructions, and we now have a backlog of such-and-such a number of cases." 4. By now I know more about how many officers I'll have each day, so I reply and say "We can take all those cases. Please distribute them as follows." This lets me schedule more lightly on the days when I know officers will be on leave or working outside the office. 5. Usually, some weeks later, NVC contacts me a third time and says "Our second round of scheduling is completed per your instructions, and we now have a backlog of such-and-such a number of cases." My goal as a manager is to always take all those cases. Sometimes there are so many that we have to be creative -- for instance, that's why we put a Saturday in June on the schedule. 6. Also around this time, NVC is also asking me how many cases we can take the next month (in this example, July). So there are days each month when, technically, there's no slot available for interviews, because we just filled June and July hasn't technically opened yet (although that will happen any hour now). Right now I know NVC's not going to ask me to add numbers in June again -- and, if they did, I'd have to tell them we're already scheduled far above normal numbers that month. So anyone whose case is ready, for instance, tomorrow, will not be able to get a June appointment, because it's too late for NVC to ask us to take more cases in June. But they'll likely be scheduled in July. Is anyone still awake after reading all this detail? 8 Likes |

Hi VO, I am the daughter of a US citizen with 2 sisters who have PR, all living there. I was on student visa for about 3yrs (travelled home about 3 times during my stay there). My I130 was filed while I was there but I got married before the end of my F1 in Nigeria, travelled back to the US to complete my studies and left as soon as I was done before my grace period ended and 2months before my visa expired. I started work 2weeks after my return as I had a job waiting, I currently earn a little above 400k gross monthly, my husband earns a good pay too. I want to visit the US with my husband (for 2weeks) by December as he has never been there. I have strong ties to Nigeria ( my dad and brother are here, I have a good job, my husband and I have lands to our name and my husband's entire family is here) but as I have an immigrant case pending, do you think we would qualify for a visit visa. (Note my husband had been denied a US visa before. I have a valid Canada visa. We would be having a Europe tour in the summer). Please what are the odds that we would qualify? |

damidamsel: This really is a question for my non-immigrant colleagues at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening . But we don't answer questions about people's "odds". It's impossible to hazard a guess without interviewing someone in person. |

sharlorhm: I have to draw a line here! I will answer substantive questions about people's cases, but please don't ask me to type your case number into my computer just to see if NVC's sent the case to us yet. If NVC hasn't told you that you have an appointment date, your case is not at post yet. Thanks! 1 Like |
