Hi everyone,

I have had this question on my mind for some time now. If a woman's spouse travelled or is not in town for one reason or the other, and is not around to satisfy her sexual needs, is it a sin to masturbate with images of him in her head.... maybe their previous sexual encounters or something like that.

Now on spousal issues and masturbating I would say this. When trying to get it up before entry you probably stroke it. Now that is the very act of masturbating. Distance is now what some in error have put as a yardstick to determine if it is a sin or not. For a married couple I believe anything goes as long as it stays between them.

No. There are certain things that cannot be declared a sin just like that. Masturbation is one of those things that some people will say is a sin while some others will say it is not a sin. In this case your belief is what counts. If you BELIEVE masturbating is a sin then it is a sin TO YOU and if you do it you have sinned. But if you believe it is not a sin then you will not be a sinner doing it. If you think masturbating is a sin then let it be FOR YOU and don't try to impose your belief on others.

A a young believer I used to think wearing a multi coloured shirt was a sin based on a spiritual leader said so. The scriptures abound for all to discover the truth from.

Eliminating religion in this present world makes a lot of lawlessness abound. However in a country like Nigeria with so much religious people who are hyprocrites a big turnaround it would be if worshippers really followed and practiced what is being preached. Pele dear, you need to find your purpose in the fold. Seek the truth and when you do find it, sell it not.

Tah! David was nt a christian. Masturbation have never been sin. Christianity call every thing. The world will be better without religion.

Masturbation in itself (teasing your sexual organs) without any form of lustful imagination or immoral thought is a mere pleasure to the body and nothing more (just like pleasure from food).

But since it is almost impossible to sustain an ereection let alone masturbate without such immoral thought, imagination or even pornography acting as a romantic fuel, masturbation becomes sin!

It is sin because we defile our body when we unclad and bleep all manners of women in our minds, women who we are not married to (Jesus called this adultery).

Secondly, it is sin because we selfishly alter God's inseparable plan of sexual pleasure leading to procreation. In other words, we basically tell God 'to hell with the kids, all I want is a good bleep'....that right there is being selfish! God sees your 'all about me' and self-centred attitude.

Thirdly, sex is more than an aerobic exercise. It is sacred, is a ritual and a vow exchanged between a man and woman whom Christ has joined as one. Masturbation welcomes a third party (sexy stranger) between this sacred vow. This is selfish again, it's emotional cheating. Even if you hide such sexual vice from your partner, you cannot hide it from the all-seeing God of ours.

Masturbation is a short cut to adultery, it teaches us we can have sex with so many partners in our minds and still call ourselves good Christians. Who is fooling who?
