yea you can....different ROMs have different nav bar

Make sure you know how to edit build.prop

Go to
/system/build.prop
Open the file and add this line below
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

Then reboot... Your nav bar will show

I've done it

Copied bbm tone.wav and pasted in system/media/audio/notifications

rebooted and set it as notification in the BBM app

Though I haven't used, I believed its untouched and can be upgraded. I have used some parts to make repairs on my phone. I reinstalled my phones stock recovery with it when I wasn't able to install update with custom recovery.
