The hospital should shift the blame to FG shamless hospital don't they have standby generator, Nigerians are very good in placing the blame or where there ever a time we had constant light supply in this country, a very good management team should have anticipated that. |

There is no correlation between "light" and oxygen delivery. The patient was probably on E or H tank and they are not powered by anything. Nigerian hospitals don't use oxygen concentrators. So they should investigate what else caused the death. That's all / |
Re: Sad: Woman Placed On Oxygen At General Hospital Dies After Nepa Took Light by IYANGBALI: 3:17pm On May 10, 2015 |
Why should a hospital use useless, unreliable, unpredictable so called NEPA in Nigeria to put a patient on oxygen,if not because the hospital is being headed like the clueleess president that we have. Another life wasted by the Nign government |

Sorry but what's the relationship between oxygen cylinders and electricity? This story is so so incorrect. |

Tolexander:Fuel scarcity isn't an excuse. Afterall a hospital of that magnitude isn't going to be running 'I beta pass my neighbour' kind of gen but a large (above 15kva) generator which uses DIESEL...and we all knw dat diesel is available despite the scarcity of PMS-petrol |
Re: Sad: Woman Placed On Oxygen At General Hospital Dies After Nepa Took Light by tbaba1234: 3:18pm On May 10, 2015 |
ikeonyeka: There is too little information, FG has failed with Power but why did the stand-by generator fail to come on... If it was because of the difficulty with fuel then FG can be blamed but if it is because of a lack of maintenance, you might blame the hospital authorities.. |

Airforce1: let's be objective here. General Hospital Gbagada is a state owned institution, why should you be blaming a president in Aso rock when you should be blaming a governor in Alausa? |

doxime:Yeah but I doubt if a general hospital in Nigeria has an oxygen concentrator. Maybe in a few, yes, few teaching hospitals and federal medical centres. I am almost sure d woman must have been on an oxygen cylinder and so I feel d author was being mischievous. |

This is very personal to me in the sense that I have been hospitalized once before that I was inebriated and on oxygen for couple weeks and nothing went wrong. Of course, this was in Chicago where you do not expect power failure, and in case of power failure, there is immediate power backup by power generator. That woman's death is the effect of Nigeria's bad leadership over the years latest of which is GEJ. Hopefully, GMB will be much better and things will improve. Nigeria deserves better than being a perpetual third world Nation. 1 Like |

tbaba1234:Yeah,theoretically could be an oxygen concentrator, but I honestly don't know if any general hospital in Nigeria uses one for same erratic power issues. Am still convinced she was on d standard oxygen cylinder and so find no link with power supply. 1 Like |

Gejpresident: Fashola is not running the country....you know. (Plus...that was Tinubu's project.) Plus...there are issues between federal and state government over power generated....and how it should be used...said dispute going back to before GEJ.In brief....Govt wants state to give them the power generated....while state wants to keep power. And BTW....what has your man done for power? Why are we still below capacity? Anyway....Buhari as I said should focus on generation and transmission...especially the transmission. |
