These excuses are worthless and unreasonable. 1. The Nigerian Railway Corporation and other government businesses died before the advent of the PDP. 2. The problem of the north east should be in seclusion. They failed to embrace education and civilization, which resulted in an outbreak of law and order due lack of economic productivity. The zone is the least productive in Nigeria, the PDP should not be solely blamed for the cultural inclinations of an ethnic nation within Nigeria. 3. Yes, a tidy sum of revenues has been accrued from 1999 to date but it has also been expended as stipulated by the constitution. The cost of running the federal system of government is very high. All revenues earned from 1999 to date were shared by the three tiers of government ( the federal, state and local government). Some tiers used theirs to the best of their ability while others failed. If for the past sixteen years, the dividends of democracy are yet to be seen and felt by a vast majority of the populace, then we have a problem as a nation. You can also ask why the military failed to give us steady power and energy for the thirty somethin years they ruled? 5. Nigeria's problems did not start from 1999. The miseducation of Nigerian populace which was a direct result of the failed policies of the military (which Buhari was a part of) on the education sector; the implementation of governmental systems not suitable to the Nigerian state as well other sociopolitical and economic failures of the military, led to our downfall. 6. The price of oil should not be the major concern or problem of any president in Nigeria. Fifty years after independence, our mates in Asia and Europe are past that stage of depending on a finite natural resource for their economic livelihood. You should rather see, the fall in crude oil prices as a blessing and use the opportunity to galvanize our factors of production to ensure maximum productivity within our economy by implementing strategic fiscal, monetary and social policies to achieve the objective. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria's decay has been ongoing for over 40yrs and you saw all of it and still contested while making thousands of promises, now you don win. The real face of governance is now staring at you and you are shivering. No story You must fulfill all your promises, you have 4yrs to do that. Buhari knows that those who contributed largely to the ruining of Nigeria is all around him, instead of blaming them, he now blames the last 16yrs of pdp as if Nigeria was progressing so well until pdp came to power. They can't rewrite history. The people that has looted Nigeria dry are Buhari's friends. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

GMB should know Nigerians are not patient people and I am one too. We know you are not a miracle worker but four years is a long time for any purposeful government to impact positively on the lives of the citizens. Four years is enough to bring the needed change. 2 Likes |

Why does Buhari always refer to the 'The last 16 years'? Was Nigeria a land of Milk and Honey in 1999. The corruption and waste and inept leadership has been around since Independence. He tries to make it sound like it's only been in the last 16 years that all Nigeria's problems have arisen. Was Nigerian Airways working at full capacity in Abacha's time? Was NNSL? Please Buhari should stop all the blame throwing. Get into office, appoint seasoned technocrats to run vital ministries and departments, clamp down on ALL corruption and in 4 years Nigerians will see a difference in their daily life. It's not rocket science just needs determination. 8 Likes |

I can't stand these headlines!! You read the main body of the article and it's just different. You won't be a human being if you're not nervous after 16yrs of straight destruction. He has to come and clean up all that mess. It was almost like when Obama took over, after the election was over, you went from extreme happiness to kinda feeling sorry for the guy because he too inherited 8 years of waste and mismanagement. Now they've had 62 straight months of private sector job growth, adding about 12.3 million jobs to the economy. With that said, Buhari is the person we need right now. I can imagine if he became president 8 years ago or earlier we would have moved much further as a nation but if anyone can get us out of this mess we're in, it's him. He's not president yet and people are already having s new way of thinking. Ben Bruce is already talking about selling the presidential fleet line he wasn't alive when it was being amassed. Atiku too is already tweeting about his motorcade stopping for traffic light. We got a peek of what's going on in the monstrous NNPC because Baba just said he'll probe. Things are already changing, I think he just wants people to manage expectations and not think Nigeria will turn to Dubai next year. I've heard someone talk about them getting excited about May 29th so that they'll start enjoying constant power. Those kind of expectations is what he's trying to manage 1 Like |
