As old as they are, non of them is on the list of top 100 Universities in the world. It is not about 'how far' but 'how well'. If not for Leadership failure, University of Ibadan should be in the top 100 of the league table based on its potentials when it took off in 1948. Our Universities still remain degree mills, filling the mind of their students with facts instead of teaching them how to think. Little wonder we are where we are today, as no nation can develop beyond its level of Education.

A certificate from 1-6 will fetch you an automatic interview.
I discovered that early and swore my cert must come from either of them even if na music they offered me cheesy

1-6 are known for First Generation Universities

7-10, alongside a couple of others like UDU Sokoto, are known as Second Generation Universities.

Actually, in the late 80s to early 90s, there were some companies in Nigeria that only took graduates of only the Top 5 on that list.

That changed in the late 90s when companies don't care about schools again.

Actually the oldest State university if my memory serves me right. 1979/1980.

I didn't attend any Nigerian University by the way. I didn't take up offers from Uniben, Unilag, Unilorin, FUTA in the good old days.
