The President-elect on May 6 declared that His Convoy should always obey traffic rules.

Can you Imagine Mr President standing at red light or hook-up in traffic jam?

MY OPINION:

There is no where in the world where the president is subject to traffic rules. Within 6 months that Gen Muritala was made president, Nigeria experienced unprecedented favourable changes. But all of a sudden, he was assassinated while in traffic in Ikoyi in 1976.

Nigeria is more dangerous than 1976. He should also recall an attack on his life last year. It is not about his personal safety but about National interest.

He should be mindful of the saboteurs and reverse his decision.

the fact that we're even questioning this opinion shows that we as a nation have a sickness.

Our Intelligence Agencies and those in charge of the President's security should stop being lazy. With proper planning, our roads shouldn't be blocked for hours just because 'oga or 'oga madam dey pass'.
Gone are those dark ages when you hold ordinary citizens up for hours because the 'ogas' want to use the road for a couple of minutes.

With proper planning, roads should be closed for not more than half an hour, cars diverted through alternative routes and reopened as soon as possible for people to go about their normal businesses.

Closing off all route for hours unend does not necessarily mean the security agencies are working; it only shows inefficiency, lack of planning, 'eye-service' and overzealousness.

I have seen governors walking on the street in ogun state, eating at canteen in ekiti state and even platting hair for a lady in an area in rivers state. They were not killed as a result.

Those carefully crafted public displays to score political points is not the same as this. Comparing this with that of the British p.m is plain silly as well.
Are we @ the same level as these countries wen it comes to (electronic) surveillance? ??

The decision is commendable but very very risk.
I personally am against.

Considering security risk, a president should not be stock in traffic. Even there was a time Barrack Obama went for an even, all roads remained vacant because of him.

It is too risk for Nigeria President, even to be in traffic for just 30mins where enemies and probably Boko Haram are hunting day and night.

Unless he wants to be using Bomb-proof car.

The cabals are watching in 3D
