Actually, I think N/8 is the number of atoms left...
Mass of atom/2 =mass after disintegration.
So after 3 half-lives ->,N/2, N/2/2, N/2/2/2 we have N/8 which (I think) is the mass left after the third half-life.
To now get the mass that has (already) disintegrated, we take away the current mass from the initial mass.....N-N/8

Therefore the selling price-->c.p + profit
