nelson4: No, Yorubas had made a perfect choice by forming that alliance with the North. Let SE goes ahead with their plan, Yorubas can't be bothered. Na today!!!!! It's not new to us as people that know the history of Nigeria. How did Akande lose the speakership of 7th Assembly to Tanbuwal should be a right question to ask Ihedioha from Imo state? Is he not an Igbo man? Yorubas have always been an opposition party and for that reason alone, Yorubas have got nothing to fear. Please, leave SS people out of this hatred equation and leave Ijaw people in that space. Like I have said on several occasions that there is nothing like SS when it's comes to SW or North cos each Nations within SS region has got well rooted ties with either SW or North region. Typical example of this is Edo state, Southern part of Delta state and SW. It now comes down to SE and it's only SE that is coming up with all this SE/SS. Why is SE so pained about alliance btw the North and West is the question that is begging for answers from reasonable ones among them? It's a known fact that Igbo formed this same alliance with the same North twice, not once for God sake and nobody scream blue murder. Igbo did it in 60s and 70s without this victims and betrayal rhetorics coming from the rest of us in the South. Why Nigeria state should be all about what Igbos could get of it without consideration of others; selfishness @ its peak. The same selfishness that led us to where we are today as a Nation. Is it the first coup? Brutal killing of leaders from other regions with total impunity? introduction of unitary system of govt which eventually destroyed our flourishing regional system of govt? or unprecedented nepotism and refusal to send the coupists on trial? 8 Likes |

NewNigeriaMind: What has buhari offered SW that they're having orgasm all over against the SS/SE? Just hoping he'll die cos of his age.smh Anyway Buhari is kicking fine so your hope of clinching presidency is dashed, hence just make do with whatever crumb that falls off the table sweerie. 6 Likes |

Rose2014: Buhari didn't offer us anything either apart from the promise of good governance which I am sure on a serious note is what all Nigerians care about from the North to the South . How ever we know getting good governance under Jonathan is wishful thinking as such we voted him out. so stop lamenting the SW betrayed anybody, cause we didn't have an agreement to start with. 5 Likes |

Wrong move ko, reverse move ni. Mr Jonathan aka Mandela of Otuoke and his bunch of sycophantic criminals he was calling aides were sacked and we are very happy with that. Even God Almighty is happy because he does not back criminals. 2 Likes |

Rose2014: Guy you deserve Origin for this reply , but there is something you missed, the SW and the SS/SE were never in a relationship to start with. Rather the SS allowed the SE to make the Jonathan presidency a SE government for the south east. Hence no good governance took place 5 Likes |

NewNigeriaMind: Waiting for my orijin o What SW doesn't understand now is that it'll be very difficult for any southerner(including SW) to smell presidency again in Nigeria given this so called 'no relationship' btw SW and SS/SE . U see it against Igbos but it's going to have an inverse effect on u whenever the opportunity calls. So in the end, the north remains the grand masters of the game cos they'll continue to use the south against each other 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Rose2014: I disagree, the Yoruba will get to presidency soon, in the next eight years Buhari will do is eight years, the APC will present a Yoruba and a SS candidate/North Centra Candidate. By then the pdp would have been long dead and buried. The nail in the coffin is getting deeper by the day go and ask Ayo Fayose and Mauzi 2 Likes |

Rose2014: You guys don't get it and will probably never get it because you are motivated by "chop sand syndrome" and the vendetta-driven hatred of others that leaves you viewing politics as a tool of vengeance instead of activities associated with governance that delivers socio-economic development for a people. Trust me when I say the Yorubas supported Buhari specifically because of what we feel he will make of the power he wields as President, after the SW gave GEJ a chance, and not because the expectation of political reward is uppermost in our mind. I know this is difficult for you to believe because you have been indoctrinated to always cast Yorubas as the "bogey men" who are up to no good. It is about time you grow up and reject the lies you are have been told about the Yorubas. Even Buhari called the SW the "home of democracy" ,after he thanked the region warmly for helping him win, because the truth most can accept is that the SW has paid its dues in the fight for democracy and the good governance of Nigeria. Let Buhari lead us well into an age of development and prosperity and this will be just reward for the efforts of the Yorubas to strengthen democracy and support good governance. What I find amazing is that you guys are so focused on the ancient 'pass-me-down' hatred that dominates your life you cannot even see how the new generation of Yoruba leaders are thinking and planning. You only need to sit somewhere and think productively to note that the things that will make Nigeria a developed nation has everything to do with good governance and nothing to do with our kinsman being VP or Speaker. It is always about the right calibre of person being President, VP, Senate President, speaker et al otherwise those influential positions are totally useless to Nigeria and Nigerians. The Yorubas realize this yet when will you stop hating to see and face what is most important? 8 Likes |
Re: Has The South West Made A Wrong Move? by NewNigeriaMind: 5:24pm On May 12, 2015 |
Rose2014: Sincerely I think the day the SW and SE unite will be the beginning of real development in Nigeria. The north knows this and that is why it continue to use our leaders to separate us I prefer the SW working with the SE, but the SE and SS wasted the opportunity to build the southerner solidarity when they shut the SW out of Jonathan presidency. And Jona too bleeped up, it started with people telling him to cut OBJ to size, then the obvious marginalization of Yorubas. Remember Tinubu worked for Jonathan in 2011 for the elections, why didn't Jonathan draw him closer to make him an ally. See what is happening is not the SW fault. But most importantly is the fact that the Jonathan Administration failed to deliver on his promises. An average Yoruba man wouldn't care where you come from as long as he knows you can deliver. why do you think the SW still align with TInubu as a leader. We know he is the best amongst is peers and we know he will deliver. See Ambode, the pressure on him to out perform Fashola will make you pity the man . The man knows his second term will be determined by one thing and one thing alone, performance. Even the Oba of Lagos said he has started praying for him to outperform fashola so that his stance on the election of Ambode would be justified. There are situations a leader will find himself that he has no choice but to perform. 1 Like |

When they were in political alliance with the North in the past as junior partners, they didn't consider themselves 'slaves' to the Northerners then, but now Yorubas and the Northerners are in alliance and all of a sudden we are 'slaves'. Nigeria will come to an end when and only when the SW says theyy are no longer interested that is the reality of Nigeria. We do not need to go to war for that One yeye drunken fisherman from Otuoke wanted to rubbish us and now he knows .Blaming everyone but himself for his foolishness. We wanted a unified South as president the ball was in hhi court to make that happen what did he do? Who was the most senior person from SW in his government? Same man that his people vowed to make Jonathan's govt ungovernable and succeeded Let me tell u what will happen. SS/SE will rather present a northern candidate n be his VP to make sure Yorubas don't get it. And don't think Buhari will leave his bro to support u |
