You are ignorant. What fuel? What electricity? It is actually today you have those things in far greater abundance. In the 1950s power generation stood at 270mw. Rural areas were in total darkness. There was no fuel issue because the majority used bicycles not cars. If you had grown up then you'd likely be an illiterate because litetacy rate was less than 10% at independence, compared to 74% today.

Some rural areas today don't have electricity my brother. I went to a village in Ogun State and I was amazed that there is no electricity in this time and age.

Way back then corruption, greed, stealing was almost zero. every man and woman was his or her neighbour's keeper but not anymore. I weep for this country. Just in the early nineties here, N20 was enough for me to go to school from Monday to Friday while in secondary school.

I remember back then, I swallowed 25kobo (my afternoon meal money for school) and it got stuck in my throat and I thought I was going to die.

More self delusion. The colonialists siphoned over 90% of annual export earnings which was why Nigeria was underdeveloped with not a single university or expressway after 63 years of uninterrupted colonial rule. So corruption actually reduced following independence.

You lived happily because 95% of people were illiterate village farmers and hunters with nothing to get angry about.

But back then NO rural areas had any electricity at all. The reason you are surprised at the village in Ogun today is because most places are connected to the grid today. Back then there would have been nothing surprising about it.

The corruption you mentioned above was committed by the British and not Nigerians. I hope you feel me.

Lawyer, politician and diplomat Matthew Tawo Mbu, from Okundu in Cross River State was appointed Federal Minister for Labour at age 23 in 1953.
He remains Nigeria’s youngest Minister till date.
He was also Minister of Foreign Affairs and former High Commissioner to the UK.
He was born in November 1929 and died in February 2012.

Keep deceiving yourself. Literacy rate has increased dramatically since independence. Why do you think the vast majority of our grandparents are illiterates? Use your brain for once!
