patches689: You don't like the truth, doesn't make it false. Until there is actual evidence by sources on the ground, like the BBC, Reuters , or the UN agency retracting their stories, I see no reason why I shouldn't continue posting your "ass whooping" and subsequent fleeing !!! "A source with the United Nations in Bangui said the South Africans had asked for assistance from French forces to help them leave the country." http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE92M0AU20130324?irpc=932 "Bangui - South African soldiers in the Central African Republic are seeking safe passage to the airport after taking heavy losses during fighting with Seleka rebels, Reuters reports." "Amy Martin of the UN's humanitarian agency, OCHA, told the BBC World Service that the SA troops had retreated to their barracks and were seeking safe passage to the airport." patches689: 1. A newspaper report?......... when i can clearly see IRST missiles. 2. Your incompetent and inept military leaders were deploying Air-to-Air missiles in Zambia for show, while their troops were dying on the ground. Says a lot about the warped thought process of South-Africans. 3. According to your fellow south-Africans (mzilakazi, Jln115), your objective was to protect bozize. Even here you South-Africans are confused, same as your poorly trained special forces troops on the ground. 4. Not even your government knew what their objective was. 5. You got severly beaten, begged the french and fled the country. Bangui - South African soldiers in the Central African Republic are seeking safe passage to the airport after taking heavy losses during fighting with Seleka rebels, Reuters reports." http://www.timeslive.co.za/thetimes/2013/04/03/sa-soldiers-carved-us-up-say-rebels Wounded rebels spoke for the first time yesterday of massive casualties suffered at the hands of crack South African troops as more evidence emerged of plans to end this country's ill-fated mission in the Central African Republic. We fought very hard for one and a half days. They had very good weapons and very good fighters,” said corporal Mohamed Tahir of a battle in the capital Bangui that he took part in, which left 13 South African soldiers and apparently hundreds of rebels dead or wounded. Several of those interviewed bore battle scars, including bandaged heads, feet and limbs. The rebels said the SA troops made it “very, very difficult” for them to take the town and sweep president Francoir Bozize from power. The fight put up by the SA troops was so ferocious he believed they were facing over 400 men – almost double the actual number.“They had every kind of weapon that they were fighting against us with – heavy weapons,” said Tahir. “It was a very difficult battle. We lost more than half of the the men only in my unit of 500 men.”Captain Amin Nodjokama described it as “big, big battle – it was very hot! It took a long time and the fighting was very heavy with a lot of dead and wounded on both sides”. Straight from the horse's/rebels mouth. I wonder what more than half of 500 is? But lets leave certain people to conclude we only killed 10 or so rebels. |

patches689: 1. Nigeria's budget is a pretty 7 billion dollars. 2. Your Defence minister highly refutes that claim. She has described your troops as lacking in the skill, ethos and motivation required of a proper military. She also confirms your military as characterised with an array of equipment it cannot operate, maintain or deploy. She refers the SANDF as a military in free fall. This is your defence minister. 3. Nope, the SANDF is note superbly equipped. Refer to the comments made by your defence minister. She has described the SANDF as a military characterised with an array of mismatched equipment. The Nigerian military on the other hand is appropriately equipped for the job it has to take care of. Comparing the might Nigerian military to the inept SANDF is akin to taking 50 steps backwards. 4. The Nigerian military's doctrine is to be diversified. The military is properly equipped with state of the Art CH-3A drones, MI-35m helicopters, Networking capabilities and an extensive surveillance architecture. A proper military designed to protect the mother land. 5. SANDF equipment is always either grounded due to inoperablity issues, lack of aviation fuel/ funds or a gross shortage of required skill/pilots. Hiring mercenary mechanics from Cuba says all that is pathetic about the SANDF. A military that needs to hire Cuban mechanics to fix SANDF military vehicles that are made in South-Africa. Just pathetic. Your pilots only fly 2 hours per month. This is a fact!! Since 2008 the Gripen fleet has flown 3 500 hours, according to a SAAF official, equating to roughly 135 hours per airframe or roughly 20 hours per aircraft per year, or less than two hours per aircraft per month. . The SANDF should be compared with the military of Burundi. You are well in the same class. 3 Likes |

patches689: 1. Not even your government knows why they had your incompetent troops in the CAR. 2. You deployed Fighter jets to Zambia with Air-to-Air missiles, while your troops were fleeing the CAR. Bravo!!!! The French and FOMAC already cleaned up your mess. 3. Unfortunately, your stranded troops can only see those in your various photo sessions. When the cowards needed the support, your Government deployed Air-to-Air missiles instead. 4. Again you lie!!! "Of the transport fleet, only around three C-130s are airworthy at any given time and only three C-47TPs are available for transport duties. The small fleet of C212s is only useful for carrying small loads short distances. As a result, the South African Air Force often has to rely on chartered aircraft like Il-76s to get its equipment to places like the Central African Republic (CAR) and Democratic Republic of Congo". |

Henry120: Fact? Okay....you typed that message and pressed submit. No one forced you. You have stated it as fact. Hmmm. Let me turn you into an Augustine before i sleep. That calculation is based on 26 AIRFRAMES. Meaning that calculation only holds true if there were 26 Gripen pilots in 2013 when those figures were released. I'm pretty sure you are the same person who said we had 6 Gripen pilots in 2013....fact! You have recently upped that number to 9. So which one of your "facts" are "facts"? 26 Gripen pilots in 2013 or 6 Gripen pilots in 2013? Will be intetesting to see how you scramble to edit your "fact". Just a nice warm slap to bring you back to your senses while you busy think you're on a roll. Bite all ten finger nails off your fingers thinking of a response to this. We wont hold our breath though. 1 Like |

Henry120: Aha. As i thought. Reporters go to Bangui, get specific quotes from officers specifically stating they took heavy casualties. But the truth has you desperately coming up with an excuse not to believe it....pathetic. That photo of a Seleka rebel sitting on a SA Army gecko vehicle was taken by the same journalists. So you also refuse to believe the pic? That gecko wasnt really captured? Okay then. And finally. What disfunction in your poorly developed brain makes you believe that Force A cannot take heavy casualties from Force B, even though it eventually breaks through Force B's lines? Again...pathetic. 1 Like |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 7:07am On May 15, 2015 |
Henry120: Nigeria's defence budget is pretty $2 billion dollars. It was only made to escalate to the region of $ 7 billion because you were at war times and still you needed to buy new weapons since your military was just a museum, including hiring mercenaries as well. Your usual military budget is $2 billion. South Africa's military budget during the bush war used to be far over $10 billion and I hope it will be unfair to conclude that our budget is $10 billion dollars. In the year 2000 when we needed to buy new hardwares to replenish our inventory our budget was still inflated with the large portion of the budget allocated to the committee of arms deal. Your budget will not remain $7 billion forever, especially for a populous country like Nigeria unless you are applying to be the poorer of the poorest. With only $23 billion dollar as your national budget it will be hard for you to maintain a $7 billion dollar defence budget young boy. You can throw yourself down but you won't afford it young boy. |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 8:01am On May 15, 2015 |
Henry120: 1. Those are clearly air-to-ground rockets and we don't entertain it at all. Paveway rockets, thats what they called. 2. They were not in Zambia to stay rather DRC. However, gripens can do 2000 KM in less than 30 minutes, young boy 3. What did you expect? Did you expect us to fight Seleka like fools and tomorrow suffer criticism from the world which will satisfy media frenzy that we projected our colonial selfish power on other poor sovereign state. SA weren't party to the coup and we cannot stop coup from happening since is against conventions. All that we could do as assigned to was to protect Bozize as the head of state and fight for our lives. Seleka had to literally beg us to let them have access to the palace. 4. Evidence on the ground my foot, yet you don't want to take our evidence on the ground that we post. You are so selective when it comes to evaluating information just like your fellow demented @agaugust. 5. Citizens and even Colonel Agu confessed with his mouth that he had to wear a woman's dress in order to mislead insurgents in believing that he was a woman, so that he could easily escape. It was even broadcast on international news. Perhaps you don't have DSTV at home or either you subscribed for this cheap banquet. |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Centrifude(m): 9:19am On May 15, 2015 |
mzilakazi: They were used for self protection, remember that the jets had to fly through foreign airspace to get to Zambia, and they had to be armed to protect themselves just they encountered any threats on their way to the main mission. The actual ground attack weapons were carried by C-130 that flew with the jets. |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by stillchris: 10:06am On May 15, 2015 |
Centrifude: well... looking at the current state of SANDF, they wanted to bomb ground targets with air-air missiles because of lack of funds to properly arm the jets. i suspect zambia gave them fuel on credit to fly for cameras to decieve you fools they were going to do anything. like they've always done with the usual photos release. and nice excuse by the way. you could fly bombs on c-130 to CAR, but waited for days to charter a plane to fly your wounded and defeated troops out. nice move 2 Likes 1 Share |

stillchris: Who said they wanted to Bomb targets with Air to Air missiles don't you dunderheads get that jets need to be able to protect themselves just incase they run into threats. Which stupid Country would send their jets on a protection mission to a foreign country without giving them the simplest capabilities of protecting themselves first. |
