Nigeria's defence budget is pretty $2 billion dollars. It was only made to escalate to the region of $ 7 billion because you were at war times and still you needed to buy new weapons since your military was just a museum, including hiring mercenaries as well. Your usual military budget is $2 billion.

South Africa's military budget during the bush war used to be far over $10 billion and I hope it will be unfair to conclude that our budget is $10 billion dollars. In the year 2000 when we needed to buy new hardwares to replenish our inventory our budget was still inflated with the large portion of the budget allocated to the committee of arms deal.

Your budget will not remain $7 billion forever, especially for a populous country like Nigeria unless you are applying to be the poorer of the poorest.
