To me the problem is not the North but those cowards who are also in the Southern Region are the problem. The sat on the fence and watched the Biafran-Nigerian War like a movie scene waiting to join the winning side. They just helped their masters attain the seat of power as always and I kno judgement day is coming wen they wud realize wat they hav done and retrace their steps. As for me and ma peeps, we look forward to a day wen this referendum wud be held and we down South wud say Arios Nigeria. Long live ma Biafran peeps Long live the Ijaw Race and the entire SS/SE. God bless all Jonathanians. GEJ our Hero, Wike our Role model. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

Whynotthetruth:There is nothing there to understand. There is no region in Nigeria that has been so close to the north that always control the central government like the South South. Why is the loss of Jonathan now makes you feel you have an enemy in the north. From 1979 to date the same parties control the centre and the South South. In 1979, Shagari's NPN at the centre controlled Rivers and Cross Rivers State. PDP at the centre has been controling the South South states since 1999, except Edo that went to AC (now APC) around 2008. For 16 years, you are just noticing there is a Kaduna mafia? You need some rest. 14 Likes |

IyaIode: Truth be told, confab didn't arrive at that conclusion but they did quasi-restructuring of the country...which most representatives of the north were against...Remember, the mandate to them including those in PDP was to protect the interest of the North not Nigeria...Coincidentally, the confab report was pro-nigeria but anti-north...So what again do you expect them to do if not to kill the report...how do you kill the report easily?...Get Jonathan out of the way...With this they restrategized and keyed into Jagaban's thirst for national influence.... 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Is it a coincidence that this awareness was suddenly kindled upon Jonathan's loss? If GEJ had won and the SS continued to rule for a total of 10 years, add 8 years SW rule, do you realize the North (3 geo-political zones) would have ruled for only 2 years out of the 20 years of our democracy (1999-2019)? If the focus is on good governance which GMB espouses you worries about the ethnicity of elected officials would not be your primary concern. 7 Likes |

People that cannot bring their rulers to account for their misdeeds are making noise that they want to control their resources. What have your state governors done apart from mindless looting for the past 16 years? What did you do about it? Ibori rules for 8 years. Uduaghan ruled for 8 years. Theodore Oji ruled for 8 years and is now a senator elect. Elechi ruled for 8 years. Are you that stupid that you are so comfortable with mediocre? You are screaming for a referendum but you have the like of Alams wanting to contest for a senate seat. Jonathan was president for 5 years but his greatest achievement was dividing us further along religious and ethnic lines. The problem isn't the North or SW not he problem is you. If you go your own way which I really don't give a damn if you do, you will still have you to contend with. 20 Likes 2 Shares |

Whynotthetruth: Who are those that represented you at the confab? The new leaders you clamoured for in your earlier post? I pity the younger ones in these nation, the elite have figured out a way to make you blind to their crimes while you fight for a fruitless course they will never support. Biko tell me 5 igbo elite championing your course. Barcanista please tell me 5 ijaw elite that championed your idea in the last 5yrs. They know perfectly how to manipulate you guys. 14 Likes |

OrlandoOwoh: Yes, north has always being allies of the SS especially after the fall of Boro agitation and subsequent recruitment of these to fight SE civil war. Just as the article observed, there was a deep rooted propaganda to pitch SS against SE so as to whittle down strength of SE. Propaganda was so bad that even Igbo speaking towns in SS like Ikwerre etc cursed anything SE and would not identify with SE. Jonathan ouster only awakened many to realities. Showed them that these men are not mutual allies because they used us and when we needed them, they dumped us; only our supposed "enemies" stood with us 100%. So who's the enemy really now?... To SW, the battle will soon be clear to you all...kindly support men of integrity like Odumakin Yinka in this quest to have Nigeria restructured... 5 Likes 1 Share |

Mogidi: Why can't we have new leaders in this country? We are about to get new leaders on the 29th of May Why can't we have fiscal federalism? The struggle for fiscal federalism must intensify under the new administration. As someone who recognises the larger import of this arrangement, I not only intend to play a role in helping bring it to fruition; I also encourage others to do the same Why can't this country be regionalized?I am in full support of regionalism. Where do you see yourself in this country tomorrow? This pretty much depends on whether Nigerians like you are prepared to embrace the conditions for change. If you are prepared to the jettison ethnocentric politics, by building new bridges into the future, we can expose new possibilities. Innit though? 3 Likes |

OMG! You Pro-Jonathan guys are just pathetic. Cooking up bull crap every time. Which propaganda was used against Jonathan? No be this same country we dey? Whey are you making a case where there is none? Majority of Nigerians that weren't blinded by ethnic sentiment wanted Jonathan out, and that is what they got...There was no abracadabra behind closed doors. Jonathan was in power for Christ sake. And lets not start on his dirty political tactics against Buhari. People were just tired of Jonathan, point, ,black, period!!! Get that through your freaking thick skull. Whynotthetruth:The South South had found a good ally in the north before the Isaac Adaka Boro era during the Willink Commission of 1957/8. It's was only strengthened the more when on 27 May 1967 a northerner, Yakubu Gowon, carved out South Eastern State (today's Akwa Ibom and Cross River states) and Rivers State (today's Rivers and Bayelsa states) from the Eastern Region. It's the same men like Elechi Amadi, Dappa Briye, etc that fought for this that landed in Ojukwu's detention during the war. 1 Like |

I don't like to join issues on forum like Nairaland especially when it comes to matter like this. Nobody marginalised or pushed aside Jonathan or SS rather the president deliberately made wrong decisions and dine and wine with devilish offsprings amongst us. Nigeria was in a bad economy situation before and was looking for messiah to deliver her and thought Jonathan was the man, I hate it new slogan going around in SS that their true son was been chased away from the seat of power. If I know that any of my friends is a thief I Will side track him or her peacefully as a president of a nation you have all information at your desk. If mr president should openly said that stealing is not corruption so what he is trying to pass to his citizens. Jonathan body language romance all the evils actions and you want me to sit akimbo in my single room looking at my future being carted away by politicians? hell no. We all stood by him in 2011when he deceived us of not having shoe but also stood against him in last April election so let him go to Otuoke and enjoy his looted money. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Whynotthetruth:1. Define new leaders. Donald Duke was fresh. Fashola is fresh. Sanusi is fresh. Why cant the new people with aspirations step up to contest for the primaries? Desmond Elliot showed that you can make it. How cone others did not come out? I find it insulting that the PDP had Donald Duke and we had to contend with thieving charlatans. 2) The PDP has been at the centre and the had both houses of assembly too. Why did those leaders not push for that? Tinubu has been screaming federalism for almost 12 years and failed to recognise that. Why? 3) This country cannot be regonalised because our regions do not define us. Not everyone in the SE is Igbo. Not everyone in the SW is Yoruba. Divisions are all over. We are citizens of Nigeria and we live in states and not regions. When you guys attempt to divide the country into 6, you become a bunch of tribal warlords 4) I see myself as part of a well growing Nation where corruption is not our problem. Where I can be of Igbo descent and contest for governorship in Kano. Where I can be from Abia state and the family of my Anambra GF wont say I am not good enough because I am from Ngwa 9 Likes |
