Mehn IPTV comes with a huge running cost. In 3 weeks I have expended 110g of data. Please guys, the guy who recommended an unlimited data stuff, is he for real or some scammer. I do need some intervention on data consumption.

Honestly, I enjoy this IPTV stuff but data consumption and the price that comes along is a huge issue.

Honestly IPTV to me will only be viable in Nigeria when data becomes unlimited for like 3k or even 1k monthly. For now I concentrate on FTA, qsat ,AZsky etc

I bow for you oga, 110gigs should be nothing less than 50k, if I were as rich as you are I will simple get a 5M dish to watch any channel in the world.

I won't lie I need a 5m dish but that stuff is massively huge. I don't stay in my own house where I can express myself without much interruption. I do not want to get cross with either my estate management (which definitely has stringent rules) or get starred at in a funny way by members of my estate and you have to explain to friends.

I might give it a try by writing to my estate management about my intention and hope if the outcome turns out positive.

Let's do reasonable calculations here

I have all the IKS
I have a motorised dish
I have one of Star times and GOTV
I have two phones that I get minimum of 2gb data on, monthly basis for normal office work

Why should I get a Spectranet that's not too portable like a phone and be adding 7000 to my monthly expenses?

It means some things will be based on opportunity cost, with alternatives to forgo.

I guess we ran to IKS and motorised dish to save cost, not so?

Anyone of us that is ready to spend 15k a month on internet, should rather pay DSTV 13k jeje

For now, stick with Big motorised dish according to available space, back it up with IKS and then support with either Star times or Gotv for local content

I normally use kodi hooked to a TV through a HDMI port from a pc mainly for football matches.

At the end of the day, no way to displace local content from Star times or DSTv

IPTV is for matches not aired on IKS or FTA.

I even heard that Star times acquired the bundesliga rights from DFB and if true, I'm going for star times as primary source, just that I'll miss Africa Magic. I love urban, showcase and Yoruba. Only Orisun and WAPtv supplies Yoruba movies on Star times.

I'm also anticipating CTL/ Trend TV. they said they have all beinsport channels and uses DVBT decoders as against DVB, hence DSTV can't challenge them over rights issue

Davo, you are right about IPTV, and like I said, the contents on IPTV are better than what is available on DSTV except local content.

I asked my contact man if I could drop his contact so that whoever wish to join d moving train can hop in...he said he's not too comfortable with DAT on an open forum like this. will get his email so you guys can also come on board. d beauty is DAT u don't need to see him physically, he will tell u what to do and is up to you to join in or opt out.

Nice one I knew swift was key to this..Even using one of the networks at d moment with my kodi..works fine "Most" times.

The reason is simple, ur cable tv provider satellite dish isn't good or big enough to receive good signals 24/7. Same with CTL benin.

I use an android Phone (htc one M7) and i got a laptop that i can connect through hdmi port to my tv, guess i am good to go...lol
