Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that the problem of the country is failed leadership. The former leader stated this at a party to celebrate his 78th birthday in Abeokuta. He said, once Nigeria is able to get leadership right, all other things will fall in place. Obasanjo hinted that even the entire west Africa region including Great Britain does not want Nigeria to be in any form of crisis because none of them could accommodate a fraction of Nigeria populace.

He said, insurgency cannot be suppressed by force without addressing the root cause which is poverty. Obasanjo opined that with the abundance of resources the country is blessed with, no Nigerian child should go to bed hungry.
