I actually read, speak and write Yoruba and my native Ibibio and I still do not have a distinctive Nigerian accent. It takes a lot of hardwork though. Australian accent rocks best. It's way better that American and British accents.

British, American mixed with that posh and clean Nigerian accent does it for me .. In linguistics its known as "Floating" .. People like Omotola Jolade, Joke Silva, King Sunny Ade do it perfectly.
I also don't have a thick or distinctive Nigerian accent ..lol .. I 'float'.

British accent especially the Cockney accent is too nasal. American English isn't even too standard, no thanks to the annoying Irish, Spanish and negro influences.
Americans mock the British accent, the Britons in turn mock the American accent but none mock the Australian accent.

Listen to BBC Worldwide radio? Their anchors barely even have British accents and they are mostly British; Liz Ducet e.t.c
