So oshimole gave the WAI contract to cultist? and no one is saying anything about it. the media is quiet.

But when GEJ gave militants pipeline contracts, everyone including the media woke up over night.

Serious yeye country.

I wish the so-called fallen hero abi na soldier had asked himself that question a long time ago. I am sure he wouldn't have died such a senseless and avoidable death. now he has thrown his folks into mourning.

What started like a childs play in the 90s is now a full grown monster. Cult groups who normally hide their identities and only meet at night under the cover of darkness are now openly showing and displaying their identities, this will only encourage more youths to join, I won't be surprised if the governor of edo is a cult member himself.

It started way back before the 90s

Just imagine the irony of leaving the WAR AGAINST INDISCIPLINE in the hands of violent cultists. The moral decadence in this country is alarming.

Do you mean that policemen arrest them for wearing blue hats? No, they can't do that. Wearing blue hats doesn't make them criminals.

Those guys you see there are all armed.

Weird stuff: Did Gov. Oshiomhole and the Oba truly send reps to a meeting of cultists?
Posted By TheScoop on October 14, 2013

by Stanley Azuakola

We don’t know which is the weirder: That cult members in supposedly outlawed groups in Edo state decided to openly hold a meeting OR that the state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, the Oba of Benin and the police commissioner decided to send representatives to attend the event?

Earlier this year, there was an alarming increase in cult-related violence and murder in Edo state with some of the cult groups who were present at this meeting being the architects of the killings.

The cult members said they were meeting to form an alliance against the spate of kidnappings, armed robberies and other violent crimes in the state.

According to The Punch:

The cult members, belonging to various fraternities in schools across the state converged at the Sand Beach Resorts, Benin, on Saturday for a summit tagged “Interactive Peace Summit: Strategy for Social Cohesion.”

At the summit, the groups, which came together under the aegis of Rainbow Consolidated Forum said they were not satisfied with the spate of violent crimes and insecurity in the state and vowed to fight the situation.

Some of the fraternities at the summit included the Green Circuit (a.k.a Maphites), Norsemen (aka Vikings), , Eiye confraternity, Family Fraternity of Nigeria and Avarian Organization of Nigeria.

Governor Adam Oshiomhole, Oba of Benin, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, the State Security Service, and the Commandant of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps sent representatives to the summit of the cultists.

While acknowledging the damage already done by the activities of the cult groups in the state, the chairman of the Rainbow Consolidated Forum, Donald Edeoghon, said he hoped that their coming together to fight armed robbers, kidnappers and perpetrators of other violent crimes in Edo would yield good results.

He said, “If you remember, for over two decades, inter-group conflicts which often resulted in violent and fatal crisis were the attributes of Edo State communities. Innocent lives, properties of inestimable worth are taken and destroyed on a whim. Armed robbery, kidnapping, thuggery and sundry social vices rose to unprecedented levels; it became dangerous to reside and function legitimately in Edo State, and, in particular, Benin City.”

“Various efforts were made by various groups to check this disturbing trend. Some were sincere while others were not. They failed because their focus was eradicating inter-group conflicts, whereas conflicts are integral part of all human societies. The situation looked bad, but then came the platform of Rainbow Consolidated Forum with a template for all seasons.”
