The day Ivie escorted Dave to the airport. It was an emotional scene for her, she held onto him as if that will stop him from going.
'Hey,i'm going to call you,we're gonna stay in touch,okay?
Ivie simply nodded, she knew that might be the end of their relationship, he might decided not to reply his calls. Or he might decided to get married to someone else. Even if he decided to come back, lvie knew she had explanation to make, How is she going to explain the baby she is carrying?
She had a plan, she was glad he was leaving the country, atleast she will use that period to clear.her head and think properly.
"Alright, keep my love" she said
Dave looked at her and his heart melted, despite all odds, he.was falling for Ivie, and.he knew that means war!

He held her hands and kissed them passionately, he released.them and he left, Ivie stared at him until he was out of sight.
She returned back home, and pulled herself away from the negative thought that filled her mind.

Months since Ivie escorted her soulmate to the airport, she resumed her work, her stomach was bulging out, she was dizzy and weak.
The intercom rang, she inhaled deeply, she didn't pick it, because Martins had given her some files to work on, she was sure he was calling for the files, she quickly searched her desk for it. Oops! She left it at home.
Knowing Martins to be a stubborn guy, Ivie was confused, she would have ran home and bring it, but she had an appointment with her doctor, she decided to brave it.
The intercom rang the second time, she didn't pick it, she didn't know how to break the news and subject herself to insultive comments from her boss.
The next thing she heard was " Where is the files?"
She looked up and saw Martins, her heart flew, she wasn't ready for any type of drama
"I forgot it at home" She said calmly
"What did you say??"
"You heard me right, I forgot it at home"
"Didn't I tell you, I will be needing them today?"
"You did!"
"And you forgot it because?? Oh the bastard you're carrying is making life unbearable for you??" He said with a smirk.
Ivie's heart bleeds, this has been going on for some time, little mistakes from her part, it results in offensive words
"I'm not carrying a bastard, and I'm sorry concerning the files" She managed to say
Martins strolled away without looking back.

A month had passed since Ivie gave birth to a baby girl in the states.
One clear night,she sat contentedly in the veranda,enjoying the cool of the evening. She had just prepared dinner for her family.
Her baby was resting in the hands of her mother,
Ivie's mummy has a set of magnificent teeth with a tantalising gap in the middle.
Ivie could hear her mummy coming up to her,with little Mercy balanced astride one of her hips. Handing the girl over to her mother,she said.
"She's hungry"
" Let him suck from you"
"Get up and feed her,she's very hungry,my weaning days are over." Her mother said with authority.
"Let me quickly prepare her 'food'" Ivie said as she made a move to stand up.
Her mother stopped her "let her suck from your breas't,and not some processed foods,children of nowadays,always making things easier for themselves,when I was in my prime,I always breas't-feed my babies for six good month. I mean exclusive breast-feeding without water or anything"
"Six months?Mom?" Ivie exclaimed
"Yes,vie, six good months!"
"Mom,you know I'll soon be going to Nigeria,so it's better if she's used to that 'food' now"
"Mm,you know you can't leave her here because you're ashamed of her,just like that,she has to come with you sooner or later"
"I'm not ashamed of her,infact I'm proud of her,but for now,it's better,she's with you,and I'll be going to Nigeria next week unfailingly.
"So soon?? Ain't you on leave??
"My leave is over,it's just a month,you know it's private"
"Okay,God will be with you,you'll go in peace"
"Amen,thank you" Ivie said as she feeds Mercy.

Ivie came back to nigeria, luckily for her, Dave had arrived a month ago, she kept her baby private though, Immediately, They swung into action and started preparing for their wedding. Ivie wants a quiet, cool wedding, Her friends had protested heavily, but at the end, they had to do according to her biddings.

Martins has ordered her to come to his office, since she returned from the states, she had pretended to be fine. Ivie shied away from friends that asked about her baby, most people don't even believe she has a daughter judging from her physique, most times, she denied having a baby, most times, she would lie she had a miscarriage.
"Good morning, you sent for me??" Ivie asked.
"Yeah,please do have your seat"
Ivie sat down
"Uhmm,I'm sorry for all that happens between us, the icky ground we have and that"
"I thought you said you want to see me based on works"
"Yeah, I want to apologise for the pains I've caused you..........."
"What's your angle??" Ivie asked
"I want my baby" Martins said and stood up.
Ivie gave a short laugh "which baby??"
"Oh,Ivie, don't play dumb with me, we all know what transpired between us that night, I choose not........"
"Dream on! Can I be on my way now?? I can see you have nothing to say" Ivie said and stood up.
"You want it the hard way right??"
"I'm leaving, you need your drugs"
"Its' okay for you to deny, then you left me with no choice than to carry out DNA, heavens bless your soul if she's mine,then you'll regret your life"
"She??" Ivie asked
"I know she's a girl"
Ivie stood still, Martins was desperate to get to the root of the matter, she's 100% sure, the DNA would match, And yet she had no idea what Martins would do after, The main fact that Martins knows her baby was a girl was a cause for alarm, because she kept the sex of her baby secret.
"You're a shame to manhood,Yes,you" She pointed "you knew all this while the baby is yours and yet you pass derogatory comments at me,who do you take me for?? A fool?? ohh,yes! The baby is yours, Can I go now??"
"We're getting there,like I said, calculate the money you've spent on her and I'll pay you in fourfold"
"I don't need your money atall"
"Alright! I have three options, one,you give me the baby,you can come and visit her anytime or you keep proving stubborn and I fish her out,and you won't have the chance to see her, I've gat my eyes on her,I have private investigators,or lastly,you marry me and the baby stays with us"
"You're bluffing"
"No,I'm damn serious!"
"Bad news,I'm getting married next week saturday, do your worst, mister!" Ivie said as she threw her I.v at him and strode away.
