Psalm 14:1 says & I quote, "only fools say in their hearts, 'there is no God.' They are corrupt..."

The "fools" in the above verse is not referring to those who are not wise or unintelligent; but rather, to those who have distance themselves from God; they have no connection with God whatsoever. And because they can't feel His presence, Hence, they say "there is no God"

....God is invisible does not mean He is non existence. Same way you believe the existence of wind, even when you can't see it, same way God glorifies His existence.

I was only trying to open-up a debate with her.
It's kind of, " atheists vs those who believe in God". Do not get me wrong; it's purely academical;....just a debate!

Anyway, nice write up there!

Chikaodili345, I was just trying to open-up a debate with you. I respect your believe; and I know it's personal.
If you do not like the debate, no problem.

You sef in your attempt to call for peace you come dey arrange ground for another misunderstanding. Whatever you wanted to say is very prone to be misunderstood especially as you quoted a post containing Holy Scripture and said "...no need for all this crap..."

This debate is very sensitive, controversial and she's the only one. Let's choose something else.

Debate is fine. I just think that religion, in general, does more harm than good.

Really? Do you know how many people have died from religious zealots trying to impose their beliefs on the world? Everything from the Salem witch trials to present day Islamic extremism.

Let me know so that I'll know how best to "impose my ideologies". grin

Am not in for any religious debate . In Naija , if u wanna cause pandemonium just start religious, ethnic, political or football debate .
Re: NYSC 2015 Batch B House by chikaodili345(f): 6:43pm On May 17, 2015
My problem with religion isn't so much the idea of a deity. My problem is the people who worship/revere said deity to the point that they are obsessed with imposing their deity on everyone and everything.

Nigerians are shocked when you tell them you don't go to church. I find this comical. Is it by force? Please, leave me.

They're not very different, often used interchangeably.

Do you think cloning is ethical?
Why or why not?

That's your response? "Atheists have killed too"? It's like when you're caught cheating on a test by your teacher, and you point the finger at your neighbor and say "he cheated too!". That's not a valid defense, and it doesn't negate your cheating. You don't escape judgment/punishment.

Also, these missionaries/charities came decades *after* the mass killings by religious fanatics. They were basically cleaning up their own mess. I give them no credit for that.

Humans

I don't know much about bioethics, just the basics. But there are two main types of cloning: reproductive and therapeutic cloning. Both uses stem cell research to generate human cells to help treat/cure terminal illnesses (e.g Alzheimers) and to help couples with fertility difficulties have children. I think both are altruistic goals, and should not be discouraged. But, we should still have rules on how the process is done.

This is my long-winded way of saying i think it's more ethical than unethical.
