cadonal: Please also bring the Affidavit of Support (unless you know for sure it's included with your petition) and any other relationship evidence you have handy. Every relationship is different, so we can't tell you exactly what to bring. Many people bring e-mail printouts, letters, Western Union receipts, etc. |

onemorestep: You should wait to hear from us before you get your medical report and police certificate. Otherwise, the likelihood of those documents expiring before your case is complete becomes somewhat higher. For us, your name is the name on your passport. If you don't get your passport corrected now, you're going to have a heck of a time convincing the U.S. government to spell your name correctly later. You've only spent six days with your fiancee? Ever? That's going to make it more difficult (but not impossible) for you to convince an interviewing officer that the two of you have a bona fide relationship. We wouldn't deny an application based solely on the fact that you haven't spent much time together, but, frankly, if there are any other indications that it's not necessarily a genuine relationship, that's going to help tip the scales quite unfavorably. |

wittfanintnig: The case is boxed up and ready to leave us for USCIS. It will take some time to get there, and then it will take time for them to review it, but it's ready to go. |

Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 8:54am On May 18, 2015 |
mikolo80: You can, but I wouldn't recommend treating an important document that way. My advice would be to have the card sent directly to you and to hold off on traveling until the card is in your possession. 1 Like |

Dear Visa Officer,I need ur advice on this pressing issue. I intend visiting the US for 2-3 weeks but am worried about because of the financial docs that I have. My business is registered with CAC but not yet incoporated but the biz current account enjoys a huge flow of funds.Specifically the balance has not been less than 3M for months now and I also have a savings acct of 280k. My questions is,will the VO consider the only the certificate of biz registration only financially capable?Should I also include my land C of O to reinforce my financial capacity?I m asking because most applicants do apply with the cert of incorporation and other relevant CAC forms. Though before applying for visa, the account may reach over 4M. I also don't have tax clearance certificate and I am the only signatory to the account. Pls advise |

VisaOfficer:I understand you and would never even consider treating any of my documents with "such levity". But I can't take more than 2or 3weeks off work which is not long enough to Receive the card and I wouldn't want to antagonise my employers as the income will be paying for re-relocation costs. Its funny you invest so much in getting a green card and then it comes at the most inauspicious of times. Darn |

VisaOfficer:But at least they give you a 7 to 8 month heads up. This medical report gives me a less than 3month window. |
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 10:02am On May 18, 2015 |
mikolo80: The three-month window is only for applicants with an active medical condition -- otherwise the medical report is valid for six months. Everyone takes the TB test, so just having taken it doesn't mean you only have three months. I"m not trying to get into your personal medical business -- I'm just thinking from something you posted earlier that maybe we weren't clear about the three month / six month thing. |

VisaOfficer:I was told by hospital and read online (embassy website among other support group sites)that medical lasts for 6 but the tb test is valid for 3months hence my unpreparedNess towards relocation. Although I think its just hard to break ties with ones home abruptly. Trying to dare into the transition. |

Our Visa Officer, Can you please take a look at the case number LGS2015xxx027 to see, if all enclosed documents are satisfactory? We are fully aware that all the original documents MUST be brought to the visa interview as National Visa Center (NVC) only received the photocopies of most the documents. My apologies if i am bugging you a lot! Looking forward to reading your response. VisaOfficer: |

Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 11:02am On May 18, 2015 |
mikolo80: If you have Class A medical clearance -- if you're not Class B for active TB or another condition -- then your medical report is valid for six months, and for purposes of immigration, so is your TB test. |
