Apparently at the embassy now, they don't use the number display method anymore. They'll just call you based on your arrangement into the embassy. I was the first to be interviewed today after hustling my way to the front. cheesy grin

Me: Good morning ma'am hope you had a good weekend? (smiling and confident) passes documents to her without her asking.
Vo : mumbles something. Didn't hear what she said. She collected the documents from me.
Me : (In my mind) I'm not leaving with my passport today sha.
VO : Where are you going? (typing so fast!! Mehn??!!
Me : The university of Mississippi *admiring her fine face and hair*
Vo : what course
Me: pharmaceutical sciences (PhD)
Vo : so how did you get to know about his school?
Me : using academic websites such as us news, Princeton review, education USA and then I streamlined my search based on my area of research interest and schools that match my ambitions and goals.
Vo : are you a member of education USA?
Me: No I'm not.
Vo: so how many schools did you apply to? (typing fast again!!!!! )
Me : I applied to 6 schools.
Vo : what are they?
Me :Florida, toledo ,......e plenty.
Vo : so why this school?
Me : (gesticulating) oh it has an excellent school of pharmacy, highly ranked. But more importantly I'll be investigating the link between our individual genetic make up and the way we respond to medication in terms of side effects and allergies. Certain people seem to have these more than others. I'll be looking at ways to reduce these side effects.... (Cuts in, studies me a bit. I just looked her in the eye ball. Today na today.) Vo : who's paying for this?
Me: I'm going on a full scholarship. Takes care of tuition, health insurance and offers a really good stipend. It's on my i20
Vo. : looks at i20 (oh) how did you get it? *looking surprised *
Me : I submitted my standardized test scores and had to go through an interview and I came out successful. It was quite a rigorous process.
Vo : what did you study in school?
Me :didn't hear her. She repeated. Then I told her pharmacy. I'm a pharmacist.
Vo: where do you work?
Me: I work as a pharmacist at the state specialist hospital where I take care of women and children's health and ensure their safety as well as that of their babies. (tallies with my ds)
Vo. Hmm. OK your visa is approved.
Me : went deaf. Walked away. And she had to call me back to take my pick up slip looking at me like this guy is too happy.
Collected my pick up slip and ran out after telling her to have a good day.

No document was asked, just packed documents for nothing. Not even my funding letter.
I went with a bank statement not up to 1 million.
It can only be God.
If I can chip in, abeg be confident and fluent.
Good luck to all applicants.

Special thanks to the lovely and kind @zeezahbee
To @haffikem and @slimmy05
GOD WILL MAKE YOU GUYS BIGGER.

Spacebaba and bbdd:

Congrats to the both of you.

Spacebaba:

I remember you on here. Out of curiosity, is there any particular reason why you chose Applied science? Yes, I saw the reason you gave the V.O but one would expect that you go for a Ph.D. in maybe Physics, Geophysics, Geology, Geotechnics, or Geological Engineering given that you graduated with a First class. Your research interest is also more of Geology, Geophysics, and mostly Geotechnical Engineering. Or do you mean Masters of Applied Science in Geology? Like M.Asc Geological Engineering?

I'm so eager to hear from you.

Congrats again.

She could be gentle, however gentle she is, her actions, inactions, reactions and responses can't be the same to everyone. Furthermore, you can't change individual perception about you until they change it from their perspective. We all love peace and war at different points and phases in life. She could be nice to you and me but..... Congratulations on your visa approval . See you in Obama land!

If you as a person with this clear and matured way of resoning in situations of this nature. When you get here, don't drop this skills or be swayed by the reasoning of most Nigerians you find here.

Not everyone here is coming for schooling and from their comments it's not hard to tell.

You will know what lies in here for you when you drop at the airport. There is a clear distinction and I seriously doubt your level of intelligence as your comments and resoning doesn't portray or come to me as one who does. Let me clear the web in your face that, a lot are not known for ass licking. In as much as I know you doesn't mean I won't tell you the point truth. Innovativeame, is someone I've met and sometimes when he doesn't do what is expected of him I clearly state my displeasure- this is how to thrive in an organization, if you've worked in one whose ethics can't be compromised.
