agaugust: T-129 doesn't come standard with radar How does guided rocket pod with only 4 missiles make it better? Rooivalk can fire Mokopa or Ingle Zt3 - both are better than sh1tty guided rockets Rooivalk canoon fires a bigger shell and carries more ammunition - it's better Rooivalk has FLIR and a 4th Gen image intensifier - so well done on exposing nothing but your lack of knowledge Again, you keep saying it's better yet you can't tell us HOW it's better Rooivalk has all the same capabilities, BETTER performance and carries MORE munitions. Nigeria cannot afford to pay its government workers - let alone buy the T-129 Rooivalk competes with the Z-10, Apache, ka-50(52) and mi-mil28 not your little lightweight 5 Likes |

agaugust:Nice Source Bro ! Do you actually think I would believe anything that comes from that sh!TTY blog? Fact is Mr Barlow trained your soldiers and also led attacks against BH, Nigeria has nothing on South Africa!! Secondly our top commanders were moulded and groomed for Commanding roles by Officers of the SADF/SANDF, all Nigeria ever tought them was how to fire an AK. |

Centrifude:Recalling our Ambassador/High Commissioner was a grave decision considering that no Nigerian was actually killed, nevertheless,it was the decision of the Senate Assembly to invite our Ambassador over for routine questioning. After which our Ambassador along with the Minister for Foreign affairs spent hours begging the Senate Assembly on your behalf, you should be grateful to them, really. We really didnt want other African countries to do the same, afterall,we also have investments in SA and other SADC countries,if all African countries neglect SA,it would affect our investments and citizens in not only SA but also SADC region. 1 Like |

As for diplomacy,i say 'lol'!,even the international community was apalled at the level of undiplomatic and amateur behaviour displayed by SA when your foreign minister came out to rail and rant about unfortunate incidents that happened months ago, using painful episodes of our war against BH as medium to vent anger.that is what i call childish and petulant!. SA needs us more than we need you. 1 Like |

Shame, that does not score you anything because it would have been much better if he was produced to that A+Class level by proudly Nigerian education system, instead, he promoted Japan indirectly. 5 Likes |

patches689: Actually, I didn't make anything to impress somebody here. I just introduced the advanced hardware capabilities of Atak along with performance statics. If you pay attention to my statements, You would see that I didn't compare Atak with Rooivalk since It is the Apache and Mi-28 you should compare your Rooivalk to see where you are against those biggest competitors. Heavy attack helicopters are mainly designed in cold wars to counter huge tank fleet of enemies on large flat areas, That's why They carry more AT missiles than Tiger, SuperCobra and Atak but They are not manouvrable and agile When compared with Light class. Light copters are mainly designed to be a multi-role copters which is able to perform all Anti-tank, surveillance and COIN missions. That is about requirement of countries. Being a light attack helicopter is not a disadvantage over heavy class because Each helicopters come with + and - in its characters but Atak's power to weight ratio is unrivalled. That's why She is moving like a "Ferrari" on air. Pay attention to maneuvrings on delivery ceremony. Turkish army pilots, operating aH-1W Super Cobra, impressed Atak's performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giqEk5M4WE8 As a remind, Rooivalk was participated into Turkish attack helicopter tender but eliminated cause of being heavy, difficult to maneuvring on hot/high conditions of S. East Turkey and costly maintenance issues and problems to be caused by engine provider. Turkey as a operator of Bell Super Cobra, enjoys impressive capabilities of new copter called T129 Atak. Besides, I see You are underestimating the capabilities guided 70mm missile called Cirit but It is one of the most effective and cheaper missile solution for operators against all type of light armoured threats and infantry. Today, many countries are developing an equivalent missile system but Turkey's Cirit is the first one which entered serial production before all of them. In trials, Cirit missile hit a moving target (65km/h), While the platform ıt was fired from, was moving over 220km/h. BTW, Atak is able to carry 19 Cirit missiles, not 4. Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by pavri: 10:33am On May 19, 2015 |
mzilakazi: This machine participated into Turkey's attack helicopter tender but eliminated for not fully meeting the Turkish armed forces high/hot difficult terrain requirements cause of being heavy, hard to maneouvring, costly maintenance issues, less power to weight ratio...etc. After that, It is T-129 Atak developed togather with Italy to meet ambitious requirements of Turkish Armed forces. In trials, It is proved that Atak is a beast in difficult terrains. All those means Atak is ahead of Rooivalk If we consider Turkey's requirements but other countries who has some difficult requirements than Turkey, may favour Rooivalk over Atak. It is about your need and will. 2 Likes |

bidexiii: This means nothing because he won't help build Nigeria. He will just be another brain-drain statistic as to be expected from Nigeria. Be it in soccer or academia or science. Nigeria is left to suffer while the brightest run off to other countries. Nigeria's problem is not a lack of capable people. It's a lack of organisation. A lack of brains, from that angle. So, again, this is meaningless. http://af.reuters.com/article/investingNews/idAFKBN0O40YZ20150519 South Africa to start 9,600 MW nuclear procurement process this year CAPE TOWN (Reuters) - South Africa will start the process to procure a nuclear fleet to generate 9,600 megawatts of power this year, the energy minister said on Tuesday, as Africa's most advanced economy battles an energy crunch. To meet its targeted nuclear generation capacity, South Africa plans to build six new nuclear power plants by 2030 at a cost estimated between 400 billion rand and 1 trillion rand ($34-$84 billion). "We expect to present the outcome of this procurement process to cabinet by year-end," Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson told parliament, adding that the exercise would be carried out in a "fair and transparent" manner. South Africa has signed nuclear power deals with various countries, including France, China, South Korea and the United States after surprising energy watchers in September when it announced a deal with Russia to build plants worth $10 billion. Government officials were compelled then to clarify it was in fact just the early stages of a long procurement process, after opposition parties suggested official procurement rules were being flouted. Joemat-Pettersson also said South Africa, which runs the continent's only nuclear power station near Cape Town, would also re-establish its nuclear fuel cycle industry. This would include developing domestic uranium enrichment and conversion plants as well as nuclear fuel production sites in a country with vast uranium reserves. 3 Likes |

pavri: With regards to your statements about heavy v light attack helicopters I completely agree - its what I have been trying to tell these clowns for ages. With regards to performance, the Rooivalk outperforms the ATAK. It has a higher max speed, cruise speed, range, the same service ceiling and a comparable rate of climb. Rooivalk was eliminated due to political issues (South Africa cancelled a massive arms transfer to Turkey in the 90's) and due to the fact that it contains french components. Cirit is nothing impressive - ZT3 can do the same, offers more penetration, is combat tested and is reasonably cheap. I doubt your Atak can carry 19 since the Cirit launcher of that category is still under development |

Rooivalk sales in 25 years = 12 units T-129 sales in 5 years = 60 units.....and more to be sold soon to Nigeria and Pakistan. Rooivalk is obsolete and a failure . 2 Likes |

agaugust: 41 countries operate submarines Only countries who can afford submarines operate submarines Just like only countries who can afford advanced attack helo's operate advanced attack helos. Now - you say the rooivalk is obsolete. HOW is it obsolete? Since it has the same technological capabilities as the T129 - that means that the ATAK is obsolete as well! |

pavri: T-129 carries more modern weapons and avionics than the Rooivalk. The Rooivalk is a 1980s concept helicopter with old 1990s equipment. T-129 does back flips in the air, that combat maneuver will break the Rooivalk into pieces . |
