Those issues of criminality are a problem in every society.

What is unique is fistula, polio, illiteracy and malnutrition. Those are inexcusable in 2015. Only the most backwards of societies suffer such ailments.

They are unique in the rate of occurance in progressive societies.

Only the north has a problem with the Child Rights Act. Fistula rates are far higher in the north as a result as are rates of maternal/infant mortality.

The fact is that girls in northern Nigeria are treated like chattel, sold into marriage by their irresponsible parents.
